The Green Cottage is a private lakefront family cottage located 25 mins from Huntsville, ON on beautiful Emsdale Lake in Kearney. Your family will love the private sandy beach, clear spring fed lake, deep water off the dock and your own secluded bay! The space:
This very clean cottage is intentionally decorated so you FEEL like you're at a cottage. Located on a quiet lake, at the end of a dead end road, it's perfect for families that enjoy nature and want privacy.

Open concept dining and living room with wood stove and walk-out to a very spacious deck and seasonal screened-in gazebo. Stairs down to the grass lawn lead to the private beach, 2 large docks and a swimming area with a clear sandy bottom. There are no other docks on the bay. This is a quiet lake with islands to swim and explore, with little motor boat traffic and very few cottages. Explore the nearby woods and take part in our scavenger hunt contest.

The main floor also has a kitchen with a pantry, a 4pc bathroom, and a fully equipped laundry room with an extra fridge/freezer. There is also a games cupboard filled with many family-friendly games.

The upper floor has 3 bedrooms, a linen closet and bookshelf with lots of reading material for any age. We encourage you to bring your own linens, or you can use ours, but the beds will NOT be made up for you.

The lower level is fully finished with a spacious family room and walk out to the lawn, an electric fireplace, a 3pc bathroom with heated floors, and a 4th bedroom perfect for grandparents. There is a toy closet with outdoor games, wooden trains, and Lego, and a TV with lots of DVD's to choose from. The TV has a HDMI port but there is no cable or satellite. The cottage is equipped with Starlink high speed internet.

Outdoors you'll find a small toy box near the lake with outdoor games and beach toys, an outbuilding with outhouse, and a rustic open air shower with hot water for rinsing off after swimming. Enjoy evenings around the dedicated fire pit on the beach with benches and a picnic table. Relax in the lake front hammock or curl up with a good book in the screened in gazebo on the deck.

Guest access:
Easy winter access by municipally plowed road. Free parking on the property. Since renters are not allowed to operate motorized water craft, the gate is locked in the summer. In summer, park in the driveway, outside the gate. More parking is available on the road in the summer only.

Located 10 mins from the town of Kearney with it's quaint shops, LCBO, Algonquin Park office and Rain Lake access point.
Located 25 mins from beautiful Huntsville.

Emsdale Lake is connect by portage routes to Lily Pad and Spry Lake, which are both uninhabited. There are 2 canoes, 2 paddle boards, 3 kayaks, a pedal boat, and tin boat that you can use to explore the lake. We also have a floating Lily Pad for the kids and plenty of inner tubes to play with in summer. In winter, sled down the hill, try your hand at ice fishing, or venture out on some amazing hikes, or try out Arrowhead Provincial Park's skating trail through the woods. There's plenty to do year round.
