Oceanfront Studio at Magic Sands Relax to Waves Dine by Pool!

This oceanfront studio at Magic Sands, located on the iconic Ali'i Drive, offers a humble abode with a kitchenette, bathroom, queen-size bed, a small dining table and a sleeper sofa. It's the perfect spot to listen to the waves lulling you to sleep while enjoying paradise.

Conveniently located next to Magics Beach Grill, you're just a short stroll away from some of the best food and drinks on the Kona coast. Whether you're looking for a morning cup of Kona coffee at Magics Beach Shack, or an inspired meal made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients for lunch or dinner, there's something for everybody moments away from your doorstep.

Upon entering the studio, you'll find a fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher, refrigerator and everything an at-home chef needs. Enjoy the queen-size bed and the tropical decor of the home. Stream your favorite shows from the smart TV or simply savor the views. You can dine inside at the table for four or take your dinner outside by the pool. The sleeper sofa is next to the bed, separated by a small half wall. You can sit on the couch, listen to the waves, or read a book. You'll enjoy the oceanfront location from the moment you walk in!

There is a pool for guests to use next to the ocean, as well as a large grassy area.

Please note:
- There is no air conditioning.
- This is a studio.
- There are some stairs to access the unit.

Clean yet dated. Bed okay. The ocean view is beautiful. Unfortunately this is not the place if you’re looking for somewhere quiet. Despite earplugs, there’s two roosters who caw at 4:30,5:30, and 6:30 AM. They did it each morning of our stay. Additionally, the property is tidy but it comes at the cost of the onsite manager doing loud yard work at 8:30AM every other day. The doors facing the ocean close and provide some sound insulation. But, the front door is open air grate so there is no hiding from the roosters or the noise.

Roosters are cool but I wanted to pluck and fry them every morning at 330. So loud. The room and location was great! Would stay here again. We had a great time! Room well stocked and clean. No complaints

Tropical getaway

10 days of great weather, beach just steps away, 1st floor condo well supplied with everything including beach chairs and towels and umbrella, kitchen tools, and oceanside view with wave soynds to put you to sleep.

Awesome location

The location of this unit was great. Next to a sandy beach and nice restaurant on one side, and park with rocky beach on the other side. Just down the street was an awesome place to snorkel with the sea turtles. It was not far from town and a couple of good surf spots. I just had to get over the pink walls and ceiling fans chains hanging all over the place. But heck, I’m in Hawaii:)

Love the location. Room was great with the exception of the floors it was as if the mop had not been rinsed off enought an it left a film of durt on floors so we were constantly having to wash our feet. I love the place though and will return. Thanks so much for making the rental process so easy.

Lovely and Convenient

Literally on the ocean where you can watch the sunset over a classic Hawaiian scene. Very convenient location for both Kona and South coast exploration. Beaches on both sides if you are feeling lazy. The one on the south side has good snorkeling if the ocean is calm. Go and enjoy!

Amazing views, ocean lulls to sleep

A great oceanfront spot at affordable price. Expect some occasional noise from busy street, but mostly quiet and quiet nights. Could use a deeper cleaning, and fresh paint, and shower drain runs slow. But overall wonderful little place and nice older condo complex. Comfortable bed and couch. The remodeled units have higher rates, so I was glad to find a perfectly fine older unit at an affordable price.

Great location

The location was really nice. It’s on the water, about 20 minutes from the airport, and less than 10 minutes from the busy tourist area/shopping in Kailua-Kona. There’s a public beach next to the property, and crashing waves/tide pools right out front. The large sliding doors on the lanai were cool. The unit was a bit just big enough for our family of 4. We didn’t spend a ton of time there outside of sleeping and some meals. It’s an older building/unit, but well-maintained. My kids liked the pool… which seems weird with the beach right next door, but it was nice to be able to float without waves.

Location!

This unit is in a really nice spot. The good, we were able to check in early and check out late. The unit was clean. The bad, this place really needs updating the electrical is all over the place, out in the open. From the couch we counted 4 different light fixtures/ceiling fans. Furniture dated.

great location in the Big Island, near perfect ocean view but a bit worn

Gave it a 4 because of the mattress and the overall need for some appearance improvement. Location is fabulous Don't freak out too much when you pull into the parking lot and think OMG it is an old motel from the 50s. While it is definitely not the Ritz, it is clean and the ocean is right out your sliding doors. Shame you can't walk out your room right to it. Great beach right next door. Well furnished kitchen for cooking considering the other rentals I've stayed out. Even a rice cooker and coffee grinder was there. Pool was clean and just big enough. Outdoor grills a bit past their prime but I did get one to function. The bad - the mattress sucks big time and for a guy with a bad back it was brutal sleeping on it for 6 nights. Would I stay here again? Could be, but I'd look at other properties first.

Kona Magic Sands

We enjoyed our time at the Magic Sands. The condo was as advertised. The Magic's restaurant is amazing. The only drawback was after the first few days we could not get a response from the property management.

Wonderful stay!

Beautiful location right on the ocean and next to a popular beach that's wonderful for kids. The property was comfortable and clean the the condo was well-stocked with everything we needed. Would stay again!

Summer 2023 stay

Everything was great except we had fruit flies (excessive amount) upon arrival until we left. We kept all food sealed and/or in the refrigerator, the kitchen clean, ran the garbage disposal, but did not make a difference. Location was great (right next to Magic Sands Beach) and the pool was nice!

Nice room

Building and furniture is quite warn but kept clean and was still nice. It's great being so close to ocean. Don't like that there is a permanently open window in bathroom and above door which is street side on a busy street so all that noise comes in as if sitting right there along the road. Doors and windows at least block out some noise but these openings have now windows. Luckily the road noise died down during the night.
