"The property was incredibly peaceful, my unit 9 was spacious. The kitchen was modern and had everything you could possibly want to be able to fix meals, gas stove, oven, microwave, large refrigerator. Plus my kitchen had all the little extras tools. The bathroom amenities were very nice. Most importantly the staff was prompt in responding to all my questions and requests. I do think the living room furniture in my unit 9 needs an update. The pool area was so serene and beautiful."

"Difficulty in checking in after hours. Instructions were confusing and no one was reachable by phone. After managing to check in, the room was not set up for 2 single beds that had been booked. Spoke to staff next morning & they were very helpful in upgrading us to a beautiful suite"

"My kids loved being around the animals at the property and waking up to the sounds of cows and horses. We would have loved a tour of the property on one of the tractor trailers included in the stay. The cows and horses were super friendly and calm. The shared kitchen wasn’t the cleanest as it’s shared with some of the station hands. "Had a wonderful 10 night stay at Shantara. We loved being so close to Macrossan st and the beach, while the pool was an amazing end to each day. The Hotel was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. As is normal for Far North Queensland, there is not everyday cleaning service but we don’t use that anywhere anyway. Plenty of parking, but if you didn’t bring a car everything is walking distance with shuttle bus options for longer journeys. The only black mark of the stay were our neighbours on the pool...
