Bushrock Cottage at Touchdown Cottages is a place to switch off, slow down, and feel properly tucked into the landscape.

Surrounded by native bushland and natural rock formations, the cottage feels grounded and protected, with a strong sense of privacy and connection to nature. The bush closes in just enough to create shelter and stillness, making it easy to forget the outside world — yet you’re still only 2 km from town when you need supplies, coffee or a meal out.

The cottage is fully off-grid and solar powered, offering dependable comfort in a truly natural setting. Inside, the space is generous and practical, with two large bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, and an additional separate toilet — well suited to families, couples, or friends travelling together. The full kitchen allows for easy self-catering, while the living areas open out to bush views, birdsong and quiet.

Mornings start with wildlife moving through the trees and the sound of birds in the bush. Kids have space to explore, adults have room to relax, and there’s a strong sense of being held by the landscape rather than exposed to it.

The host came to see us not long after we arrived which I had not experienced before and was lovely. Cottage was amazing and surprisingly cool and warm considering no air con. Had absolutely no issues with the solar power. Wonderful stay.

Stayed here with a couple of friends for my 40th so we could do the kosciousko summit walk. Cottage was comfortable and clean. Everything we needed was provided. The cottage was very warm at night which was lovely and cosy. Some more options for the TV would be nice but not something to stress about. Lots of wildlife around, we spotted dear, rabbits, foxes and plenty of Roos. Really enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Touchdown Cottage in Jindabyne. The cottage was spotless, warm, and incredibly comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. Our dog absolutely loved the space to explore and settled in straight away, which made the stay even more enjoyable for us. We loved the peaceful bush setting and waking up to kangaroos right outside. It felt private and secluded while still being just a few minutes from town. A cosy, quiet retrea highly recommended.

A wonderful break from city living

We had a wonderful experience! The cottages perfectly match this beautiful location. The property is quite large and there is nature all around you. You can see kangaroos, bunnies and deers. You can go for nice walks and enjoy the surroundings. Look up at the starts if the sky is clear! The cottage we booked had everything we needed. Everything is built to be sustainable and eco friendly. It's powered by solar, so certain appliances have been replaced to use energy more efficiently. You don't have a toaster but you have a gas oven and grill. You don't have the usual heater, you have a fireplace instead. We loved it! Gary, the host, is very welcoming. He showed us our cottage and explained us how to work everything. He is also very helpful and available for any question you might have. We definitely recommend it to anyone who truly want to experience the mountain and want to take a break from city living while still being comfortable and close to town.

Amazing stay

We had a great stay. We loved the property, the surrounding area, the location, and the kangaroos… it was amazing! The accommodation was excellent and as shown in the photos. Gary, who welcomed us, was super friendly and always quick to answer any questions we had.

Peaceful mountain hdeaway

Very comfortable and well laid out and appointed cottage, surrounded by peaceful mountain countryside. There are other cottages on the site, but spaced far apart and you have the sense of isolation and peace and quiet. Very pleasant to wake up to kangaroos grazing right outside your door. Beautiful tranquil atmosphere

Nice cottage stay

Beautiful and peaceful

We enjoyed our stay very much, the cottage had everything to make us comfortable. It's nice and modern, very clean. Peaceful location. We enjoyed watching the kangaroos and rabbits right out of our window. We wish it could be closer to us (we are from SA), we would definitely visit more often.
