The rooms were all clean, comfortable, equiped and set with Television in each room, making it possible to watch movies separately and the host always goes over and beyond on hospitality. Drive is less than 20 minutes to the Newark Airport and downtown Manhattan

Pros: A spacious, bright family lounge / kitchen area. Showers and bathrooms good. Cons: The main negative is being kept awake every night by very loud local live music parties/raves and street racing cars until 4am - needed earplugs! In general the run down surrounding area doesn’t match the ‘upmarket’ look of property, and would not have let anyone walk the area alone. Some tired decor and furnishings (e.g Main bed supported by stacks of books and dirty underneath). Only thin, translucent blinds over the windows, which didn’t keep any light out (including flashing party lights). Parking an issue with inaccurate instructions about local street restrictions combined with discomfort about the street racing every night.

Spacious

My coworkers and I rented this for a trip to New Jersey and New York.The house is older, but well cared for. It is quite spacious, especially for the area.There are 2 flights of stairs, not just one as indicated by "Second floor" in the listing. We were carrying television gear and navigating the 2 flights of stairs was more than I would have liked or agreed to by booking.The "always available" parking is deceptive. You are not allowed to park on the street in front of the house, but on the cross street which is a main thoroughfare. The neighbors were nice, but generally, the area does not appear to be well-kept.It is conveniently located for travel within Jersey or to NYC.It does have a lot of natural light, but it would be helpful to have blackout curtains in the bedrooms. My room was as lit as mid-day when it was after midnight.

A great spot for a reunion of friends!

A group of us, from all over the north east, were attending a ceremony in NYC. We needed an affordable option that allowed us to hangout with the group and to get to and from the city. This met our goal and our host was easily reachable and answered all my questions.

Very Nice Condo

The condo is fabulous. The owners renovation was superb. The guest bathroom tile could use a bit of touch up to avoid leaks at the tub and mildew. A major issue: the hot water heater is set at a scalding hot temperature. I would strongly advise setting it to a lower temperature.

Great apartment, not so great location

The apartment itself was well-maintained, clean, and had all basic amenities from kitchenware to toiletries. It has a very cabin-y feel and definitely made every one in the group feel at home. We didn't feel very safe at night in the area, outside the apartment though. Apartment itself does feel secure and we didn't actually witness anything shady happen. But if you're travelling with family, I'd recommend staying alert.

Perfect Landing Spot

We had a very lovely time at this location. Were here using it as a landing spot for a wedding in Jersey City. Comfortable, clean, and spacious with all amenities there, this VRBO gave us exactly what we were looking for. I wouldn't recommend going out at night alone, but since we didn't do that, we had zero problems. Would book again when in the area! :)

Quiet Place to Rest

Spent weekend with family at the Cortaca Jug at Yankee Stadium. After long day gathering dinner party, etc. It was wonderful to arrive back at Jersey City site to rest up for travel back home.

Very nice apartment but not the best location

This rental was very clean, bright and welcoming. There were plenty of linens, pillows, etc. Beds were very comfortable. The tenants downstairs were quiet - no issues with noise. Lots of steps to get into the unit, and some are somewhat steep - my daughter was on crutches and really struggled. The driveway was often completely blocked, which made unloading and loading luggage and folks on crutches a huge challenge. Parking on the side street was not always close and the neighborhood didn't feel safe enough to walk alone at night. If you are staying there as a home base while visiting NYC, keep in mind you'll pay $30 a day for parking at the train station and then spend roughly an hour and a half to get into Manhattan (or back to the unit), so the location isn't stellar for a NYC trip. We enjoyed our stay there, however.
