Oceanfront coastal living at its finest! This sophisticated Surf City home was planned with incomparable attention to detail and built with the finest materials. Besides offering a breathtaking experience of sand and surf, this well appointed home invites you to lounge or rock in a chair on one of two spacious covered decks. You can also enjoy the sundeck on the dune and bask in full, glorious sun. Take a few steps to the sand and a few more to put your toes in the surf. That's when you understand why this beachfront home is called Himmelstrand, "Heaven's Beach."

Enjoy your stay in one of six large, tastefully decorated ensuite bedrooms. This multi-generation family-friendly beachfront home comes with numerous quality touches and amenities: an elevator services all three floors, newly renovated kitchen fully equipped for foodies and cooks alike with new quartz countertops, hardwoods and tile throughout, separate water heaters for each floor, a gathering play area with kitchenette, spacious outside shower, and beach access directly from the house. Himmelstrand has been lovingly maintained and appointed. Located 3/4 of a mile south of the Surf City pier on a quiet low traffic street, Himmelstrand is an easy stroll or bike ride from the shops and restaurants of Surf City.

Lovely beach house in a great location with everything we needed for a family gathering. The two covered decks with the comfortable rocking chairs were a hit as were all the en-suite bathrooms! The elevator was very helpful in getting groceries and luggage up to the top floor, especially for the 70 year olds in the group. Would definitely return here.

We absolutely love this house! A very well maintained property, accommodating, plenty of room, and very well stocked. This was our 3rd year at Himmelstrand and we already have it booked for 2026. The only reason I didn’t give cleanliness a 5 star was because a couple of bathroom showers were not as clean as they have been in the past and the property manager didn’t contact us. The owner is very proactive, informative, and wants to make your vacation stay the best week for you and your family. Thank you Chad!

The Perfect Interruption

This property was the perfect setting for a multi-generation vacation. The hosts were timely with responses and even provided a fun shell connection activity with previous and future renters. It’s hard to find a spot where a multiple families with a wide span of ages can have and and relax. The faculties were clean and well care for. With the quick access to the beach and the main strip, it was our perfect spot.

Family Labor Day Gathering

We gathered nine adults and one infant for a family celebration. The rooms and beds were comfortable. Ocean access could not be better. And the two covered decks created get connection space. Kitchen was well equipped but with a large group the refrigerator/freezer space was small. Overall it was fantastic.

Location location location!

This is the third year that my family has stayed here. The location of this tremendous home is what really sets it apart - it’s on the beach, within walking distance to shops and the pier, and the beach itself is quiet and clean. The home is well furnished and clean. On that note, Chad was an attentive and superb host. He went out of his way to line up a cleaning crew after flooded roads from Hurricane Debbie made it impossible for the original crew to prep the house for us. Thanks Chad! The home is starting to show some signs of wear - the back door needs replacing & a slider door required serious muscles to open and close. The bunk bed in one of the bedrooms squeaks very loudly and is quite disruptive. On a whole, this house meets our needs and we especially like the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom. You won’t be disappointed!

Amazing house!

This is a beautiful and well kept property that is perfect for a group of adults. Everyone has their own bathroom and there’s one room that’s great for a family with kids. The house is well laid out and comfortable and the covered porch is amazing or sitting out and looking at the ocean when it gets too hot to sit on the beach. Really enjoyed our stay!

You couldn’t ask for a better place to stay! Owner really cares for his property and for his guests to make sure they are totally comfortable with his home! We enjoyed our stay, even though we had to deal with tropical storm Debby. Chad, the owner, stayed in constant contact with us to make sure that we were safe and that we were aware of the situation. Hopefully, we will be able to rent his home again next year. This was our second year staying in his property. Thank you Chad! Kathy

Amazing beach house

This property is amazing. It's just as described, but more roomy than the pictures make is appear. We stayed with a large group ranging from infant to 94 yo and everyone had what they needed for the stay! Beds are comfortable, kitchen well appointed, and every bedroom having a dedicated bathroom was great for a large group! The beach was great. We were worried about it being crowded given the condos nearby, but we were there over a major holiday weekend and the beach was still peaceful and relaxing. The only minor thing to note is that the bunk bed is made of a metal frame, making it incredibly squeaky anytime someone moves. My high sensory kids requested ear plugs to be able to sleep, so parents of sensory kids may want to plan accordingly.

Family Vacation Time

Himmelstrand is a beautiful beach front property. This home is perfect for our family including an energetic two-year-old. Fabulous beach property

We had a party of 15 and everyone was very comfortable. This house is close to the beach which makes it easy to come and go. It’s also close to town and restaurants, grocery stores etc. The hosts are great. They are available and they email you once in a while reminding you to take out trash and asking if we need anything. Overall this was one of our best beach vacations and we want to return!!

Fun memories for our entire family

Our stay in this lovely home was wonderful! There was plenty of room for our large family group. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was perfect for large group cooking. The home is situated in a quiet area on the beach and the view is beautiful. It is an easy drive to grocery stores and restaurants. Our hosts were gracious and quick to respond to any questions. By far the nicest home and beach location our family has stayed.

Never wanted to leave

This house is even better than the pictures! Everything was very clean and beautifully furnished. Plenty of parking space and just a few blocks away from great restaurants and shops. The house being right on the water was amazing! It’s just a few short steps to the beach. It was nice to take a little break from the beach to grab lunch and enjoy the views from the HUGE top deck and then just walk right back to the beach for some more fun! My friends and I never wanted to leave. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Highly recommend!

Himmelstrand for the win!

This is our second year at Himmelstrand with a party of 14 ranging in age from 10-77. The location of the property is just great - right on the beach and within walking distance to local shops. Great Stay!

We are always in the lookout for the perfect beach house, and we might have just found it this year. We really enjoyed all aspects of our stay. The house was beautiful and well stocked, it was in a great location, and the property was well maintained. Our plans for next summer are still a little up in the air, but if we’re able to come back we would love to stay in this house again.
