Aqua Oasis is a single-story three-bedroom on a quiet Girvin Road street, and the back garden is the whole point of it. There`s a private in-ground pool out there — a real one, three and a half feet at the shallow end down to eight and a half at the deep end, so grown-ups can actually swim and not just stand about. The yard is fenced the whole way round, with a screened terrace to eat under, a fire pit for later, a grill, and a hammock and swings on the same set of posts.

The backyard is what this house is for. A private in-ground pool sits inside a fully fenced yard, deep enough at one end for grown-ups to actually swim rather than stand around. There`s a screened terrace for eating outside once the sun drops, a firepit for later in the evening, a grill, and a hammock and swings that hang from the same set of posts. Float all afternoon, cook dinner while the kids wear themselves out, and close the gate behind you — the whole yard is yours.

🚗 Getting to the beach: This is a quiet residential neighborhood, not a beach block. Atlantic Beach is about 13 minutes in the car, Neptune 15 and Jacksonville Beach 19 — so you`ll want a car for the stay. The St Johns River ferry at Mayport is 10 minutes, Ed Austin Park 7, and Publix 7.

Old Girvin Road sits in a quiet pocket of east Arlington — older homes, big oaks, and neighbors who live here year-round rather than on holiday. It stays quiet at night, but you`re two minutes from Atlantic Boulevard.

You`ll want a car here. There`s a driveway for two plus free street parking alongside. Atlantic Beach is about 13 minutes, Neptune 15, Jacksonville Beach and the SeaWalk Pavilion 19. Mayo Clinic is 20, downtown Jacksonville 25, JAX airport a little over half an hour. Uber and Lyft are common in the area.

💦 The pool: It is not heated — lovely from late spring through early fall, more of a garden feature in the cooler months. It runs from 3½ feet at the shallow end to 8½ at the deep end, with steps and railings at both ends, a pool alarm fitted, and a rescue pole and ring on the fence.

• No glassware, food or drink in the pool or on the pool deck

💧 Well water: The house is on well water. It`s clean and completely normal for this part of Jacksonville, but it tastes different from city water — bring drinking water if you`re particular about it.

🔇 Quiet hours are 10 PM – 7 AM. This is a city ordinance rather than a house preference, and it is enforced. There are noise monitors on the property that measure decibel levels only — no cameras, no audio recording.

🐾 Up to 2 dogs allowed. Pet fee applies. Please include pet in the reservation.

🚭 No smoking indoors or on the screened porch. If you smoke out by the firepit, please dispose of the waste properly.
