Welcome to Opal House, a gorgeously furnished & decorated four bedroom home within the premier gated Ocean Point community of Wild Dunes resort. Opal House provides families a comfortable & relaxing home-away-from-home to relax, unwind and enjoy one another's company during their Wild Dunes and Charleston adventures. Guests of Opal House enjoy sweeping water views of the lagoon behind the home and the home's reverse floor plan layout -- the living room, dining room and kitchen areas are all on the top floor of this home, giving you an abundance of natural light in these rooms from all the windows and vaulted ceilings. There are also several outdoor balconies, patios and roof decks available for your enjoyment in this comfortable home.

Located just a 3-minute stroll to a very quiet portion of the Wild Dunes beach, Opal House is also situated just around the corner from the Ocean Point community pool complex. Guests of Opal House may access the Ocean Point community pool complex, which features a swimming pool and cabana.

Guests enter Opal House by taking the exterior stairs from the driveway to the front porch of this elevated home. The foyer leads you to the master suite, a guest suite, another guest bedroom and the staircases to the home's ground & third floors. On the third floor, you'll find the home's living room, newly renovated kitchen, dining area and a half bathroom. You can enjoy a morning coffee and sunrise on the outdoor deck on the front of the house or an evening sundowner and sunset on the outdoor balcony overlooking the lagoon behind the home. The home's ground floor features a media room with a full-size Murphy bed, a bunk bed with two twin beds, a wall-mounted smart TV, bathroom with tiled walk-in shower, access to exterior stairs to the backyard area and kitchenette with full sized refrigerator, microwave, sink and front-load washing machine & dryer.

The Beach Club community next door to Ocean Point is undergoing renovation during 2026. There may be occasional periods of noise and construction traffic within Wild Dunes.

Beautiful home and very quiet. Well stocked with the necessities and had beach chairs/carts available. Beach and pool were only short walks and not crowded. Hosts were in communication prior to, during and after our stay.

Opal House is a disappointment

For over 9,000 for a week, the overall experience was more 4,000. Cheap linens, dirty carpets, poor stocking of essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms. I could go on. I would not pay the luxury pricing while getting a B- experience.

Girlfriends 70th birthday celebration

Overall we loved all being able to stay together in a nice home and very convenient to community pool and beach access. We did have a few negatives: The front stairs going into the unit did not have a hand rail and was considered a safety issue especially carrying luggage in and out of rental. Cable tv did not include major networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX and no access to tennis channel. Would be helpful to download DirectTV app so people could sign in and use their subscription. Wi-Fi was very weak in basement apartment

Shipyard Success

We stayed here while playing in a baseball tournament at Shipyard. Eveeything was as advertised. We had plenty of room and the house was really clean. We had a great time and the kids loved fishing out golf balls and throwing them on the dricing range!

Fantastic Stay

Everything, from the house to the communication with the hosts/property managers, was perfect for our group. Close to the beach and a great neighborhood. Will definitely try and stay here again next time we’re in Charleston.

The perfect vacation house

The Opel house is amazing!!! The views were stunning and the layout was perfect. It had everything we needed and much more. We hope to visit again soon and enjoy the amenities of this incredible home.

Loved the house!

The home was just as it was presented on line. It was clean and ready for our stay. We all agreed that the beds slept well and the linens were very nice. We loved the special touches with the extra beach towels and beach toys in the garage. We would definitely rent this vacation home again.

Navy Graduation Weekend

We had a party of 10 including all immediate family and all grandparents for a graduation Friday for the Navy at Goose Creek. Location was convenient for this and place was top-notch. We used beach access and pool every day.

Slice of Paradise!

We had our annual “girls weekend” here and the place could not have been more perfect. It comfortably accommodates 10-12. Each room is so beautifully appointed… beds very comfortable, decor is high-end. Each sleeping quarters has its own bath. The “hang out” spaces are the best. There is a front and back deck, both so comfortable to enjoy coffee, drinks, and lots of conversation. The kitchen is very well stocked with all you will need. They have thought of every detail. It is a short walk to a lovely beach (about a block along the quiet neighborhood cul-de-sac). Central pool and large hot tub. Such a perfect place to enjoy time with friends or family!

Wonderful home, close to the beach, in a quiet community

We booked this home last minute and were pleasantly surprised with how nice everything was. The home is in a gated community, within a gated community so it’s incredibly secure and safe. The beach access is a quick three minute walk and the home has beach chairs, boogie boards and a beach cart. It’s a spacious home with room for everyone and the furnishings are well-appointed and thoughtfully placed. The screened porch at the back of the house overlooks a pond that has a golf ball driving range. We enjoyed seeing several birds and deer each morning and evening. While we visited in August, the beach was not crowded at all. There is also a pool and large hot tub that serves the community that is a two minute walk from the house. We used both each day we were there and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are already making plans to book this house next year.
