The unit I got when checked in was very badly maintained and dirty. The couches were dirty and the pillows had blood stains on them. The bathroom would not lock and would not close completely…it stayed a qtr inch open. The TVs would not work with subscription expired. The kids room shades were busted. Outside patio, in both upstairs and downstairs, the ceiling fans were very rusted, the upstairs lounge chairs were torn and you couldn’t sit on them, the small round tables had white dirty stuff on it and the floors were dirty. When you step outside, it smelled like rotten fish on account of the dumpster being near by. There is no in unit phone so you have to call their general phone number and go through prompts to get to the front desk. When I explained the problems, they said they will send someone to fix the bathroom door… told them I need to talk to manager and was told that she is busy and will call me back… 1/2 hr later, no call back… went through the process again and same story… third time same story and I said if I should come to front desk and ultimately had to go front desk and ask the manager for different unit. The new room was better but there was a water leak upstairs floor puddled with water… back to front desk…they offered engineering to come and fix… I refused and they said they didn’t have another rm but after complaining a lot, gave another room. 12 hr travel to hotel, with kids, and 3hrs after getting to resort, got an ok room. 1st day ruined.

Brilliant place to stay! Lovely location and the paddle boards were a great touch. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

This is my new go-to place to stay in Key Largo! It's clean, quaint & a good location. The view at the dock at Sunset was stunning. We had two queens & a bathroom. Our room was right behind the check in building so it was convenient to us. There also seems to be a table & chairs outside each room, I didn't know that when I booked but I was able to have my morning tea outside. Another nice feature was the in-room fridge (which was super cold), the coffee maker & the microwave. This microwave was nice! It had a USB & 3-prong plug on the front of it & when it stops running it's locked & you have to push the unlock button. If you are traveling with kids, this is a wonderful safety feature! We walked down to the docks twice on our overnight stay. There are chairs on the beach & on the dock. There were plenty of local places to eat, but I recommend C&Cs Wood Fired Pizza for their happy hour from 4-6 pm. A pizza (6 slices) & a pitcher for $10! At the Cottages, the staff were super nice. Irina & the other lady at check in were so helpful. I even asked a grounds person a question & he was helpful too. I don't care about super fancy. I care about CLEAN, a great view & beautiful surrounding. It's all of this & more!
