We had a lovely time. Great safe property in gated community. We rented car and drove from San Juan. Had minor issue with AC and the property was super responsive with how to fix it.

Great location!

It has a great location if you want to be on a resort. The details always make a huge difference. There were a lot of toys for my daughter to play with on the beach. There was also a boogie board, snorkel, and various other things to play with on the beach including lounge chairs.

Palmas Condo - Construction next door, power outages, lots of stairs

Great location is what drew me to this listing. The pictures don't do a great job of showing the lay out. It is on the second floor, it has three flights of stairs within the condo. Very spacious lay out and lots of room. Unfortunately the condo complex is out of date given how hard the elements are on the building being right next to the ocean. Two of the units right next to this condo were under construction. Drilling, pounding and other loud noises were persistent during our stay. We traveled with an infant so it was very disruptive to his naps and he was constantly crying. I had to work remote and could not do so effectively during all the construction. I understand it was probably hard for the owners to know there was construction going on, so I guess it was just bad timing. If they knew, they should of disclosed. I thought it was funny there was a sign in the house RELAX, when the only time we could relax is if we left the condo or it was night time and the construction workers were gone. We had two separate power outages, one lasting for about half a day. This apparently is a normal occurrence on the island, even without inclement weather. The wifi and cellular service was very spotty making it very hard to work. The washing machine stopped working, but we got it to come back on. There were lights that were out and some that were flickering. Remember to go to the grocery store and get basic supplies, oils, seasonings, and specific cookware you want to use.
