Never Disappointed!

My husband and I always look forward to our annual stay at Zen Escape and have never been disappointed! Beautiful decor, comfortable furnishings and the kitchen is well stocked. The new and extra touches are perfect. Take a second to check out the shutters with the NC silhouette. The location is ideal. Nothing beats entering an extremely clean rental and seeing the ocean immediately! Though the weather was uncooperative, our stay at Zen Escape was 5 stars!

Just Gorgeous

We stayed in February and can only express congrats to the owners who have gone above and beyond. (The hot tub was wonderful.) The view cannot be beat, the furniture is top notch and has a designer's touch, comfy beds, luxurious towels & sheets. Love the "pay-it-forward" - nice to have kitchen spices, foil wrap, etc already supplied. Loved it so much, we've already re-booked for another little slice of paradise!

Lovely Getaway

Not our first visit to the Zen Escape, its beautiful ocean view and welcoming interior is just part of the reason we came back. Our family had a “Coastal Christmas” this year. Would highly recommend this property.

Perfect Getaway

My family of four spent our Thanksgiving in this beautiful home. We were able to cook because all of the kitchen gear was there. We enjoyed the spa and card games they had on hand. Check in and communication was easy and responsive.

Zen Indeed!

With views that make you feel as if the water is directly beneath you and an oceanfront deck that allows you to take in the beauty and hear the ocean waves at all times, there is no way you won't feel zen here! The property itself had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our family of 5. It's close enough to the action of Surf City to be convenient but far enough to still feel the peace we crave on vacation. This was our dogs' first beach trip, and they were in heaven! The fencing beneath the house led to a convenient and worry-free experience when they were outside with us. We hope to return to this location in the near future as it was perfect for our family.

Great location

This home was in a quiet area and in between public access points so the beach area was not too crowded! The upstairs area was a nice size and beds were comfortable with ample drawer space. The view is incredible!

Breathtaking views!

We loved our stay at the Zen escape. The views were extraordinary and we were so close to the beach it was like a picture postcard. Communication with the owner and manager were outstanding we will definitely be back!

Everything You Could Want / Need On Your Beach Vacay

Our Zen Escape experience was amazing! I don't think we could have been any closer to the water without having been on a boat. It was beautiful! The home was stocked with more than we would have expected, and everything was in great condition. Every person we communicated with in regards to the property responded quickly, and did their best to accommodate. DEFINITELY recommend!

The perfect resting place

This property is a diamond! Beautiful, equipped with all the higher end amenities, so well kept and clean and convenient to many small restaurants and small community businesses. Perfect place to escape to relax and chill out. The ocean views CANNOT be beat.

Excellent Stay!!

This home on the beachfront was perfect! It had everything we needed and more. The home was very charming and comfortable. Walk right out to the beach and also easy access to the Surf City community. Communication couldn’t have been better. My only regret is that we could not stay longer.

Puppy’s 1st Birthday trip!

We’ve got one special pup who was diagnosed early on with a severe heart issue, who has also not had the best luck regarding her health this last year. She loves the beach and just recently made it to her first birthday, so we thought a trip for her would be just what we all needed! This home was beautiful, truly did not want to leave. Highly recommend and am already dying to come back!

Zen escape indeed

This property is perfect! The house is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. Everything you could need is provided at Zen Escape. The property manager is very communicative and helpful. The view cannot be any better than from the deck of this home! It is situated in a nice, quiet neighborhood within walking distance to many restaurants. Highly recommend this home!

Just what we needed

Booked this place for my husband’s 50th birthday. His only request was oceanfront, being able to hear the waves from the bedroom, and to watch college basketball. THIS. IS. IT. Beautifully decorated home with calm and serene colors not overly bright or overly beachy. Couldn’t ask for a better location. THE LOCATION!!! You feel as if you are on your own private beach and sitting in the middle of the ocean. It has everything you need and Christine was a sweetheart when I gad to call her. We’re just getting home but are already checking our schedules for stay #2. Definitely ZEN!

Wonderful Christmas!

My husband, my 85 year old mother, our dogs and I stayed here over Christmas and it was wonderful! Perfect for the dogs. Being one level was great for my mother. The view was absolutely perfect from even inside the house when laying on the sofa, working in the kitchen, from everywhere. For the summer we typically only look at places that list a covered porch, but with this house there is a view of the ocean from under the house so it is like the entirety of under the house is a huge covered porch! Even fenced in for the dogs! The host could not have been more helpful. Definitely will stay here again!!

Absolutely amazing!

This was a surprise for my son for his birthday and completion of his first semester of college. When we arrived, it was a seamless experience. The best view as soon as you walk in the door. We watched dolphins every day and enjoyed the convenience of the location to food, shopping but most importantly the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer and hope to visit the property again in the near future! Book your stay with no concerns!

Wonderful retreat

We booked this for a quick little trip to the beach. It was just PERFECT !!! The house was perfect for me and my fiance along with our French Bulldog. The kitchen was well stock ( even has a giving kitchen meaning that you coukd leave some things ror others to enjoy like spices and some sodas in the fridge). There was also full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers. We used the grill which was great. The location is wonderful as well, right on the beach, just a few steps down. This was our 1st time in Surf City and have been to a number of different beaches and by far this was the best place we have stayed at. We loved this so much even emailed and talked aboit booking something in the summer to come back. Plenty to do at the house if the weather is not good outside. Lots of games in the house and beach supplies. Would recommend this to anyone i know and really looking forward to coming back !!!!

Outstanding property

The Zen Escape is an outstanding property, literally feet away from the ocean. It is well-appointed, with all of the amenities you could want for your beach vacation. Everything inside looks brand new, with quality furnishings, comfortable beds, and tasteful decor. It is quite evident that the owners have given great thought to providing all of the little things that one might forget to bring. Just bring some food, and you will literally not need to leave the property. This may be the best property on VRBO. You cannot go wrong by staying here.

Perfect location

The house is everything listed and then some. We brought our 2 dogs and they loved it. You literally are "right on the beach". Communication was easy and they try very hard to make any issues right so youbenjoy your stay. We were able to use doordash for food deliveries from many local restaurants when we did not want to go out. We cant wait to get back to the area and are going to try a sister property to this one.
