"Sea La Vie" - Oceanfront Dog Friendly Home in Surf City - Sleeps 7

'Sea La Vie' is a three bedroom, one and a half bathroom oceanfront beach cottage in Surf City that sleeps up to 7 guests.

Nestled in a quaint residential area in Surf City, this single family home is a cozy, rustic beach getaway with beautiful knotty pine ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. Enjoy the ocean breeze under the shade of the covered deck or soak up the sunshine on the open deck. An outdoor shower is provided to rinse away the salt and sand from your day on the beach.

Don't forget your furry family while on vacation - dogs are welcome at Sea La Vie (with a pet fee)!

BOOKING DETAILS -
Age Requirements: You must be 25 years or older to rent this property. ID verification required prior to check in. House parties will be evicted immediately. Any group renting this property under false pretenses shall be immediately evicted with no refund.
Booking Requirements: 7-night minimum stays & Saturday Check-in/out only All Year
TV Disclosure: Smart TVs require guests to log in with their own accounts to access subscription apps. Access credentials are not provided.

CANCELLATIONS -
Any cancellation of a confirmed reservation must be made in writing by Guest. Reservation payments are not reimbursable unless the property can be re-rented for the same rate and time period less non refundable reservation fee, cancellation fee, and third-party fees. Please review our Rental Policies and Cancellation Policy.

CHECK IN DAY DETAILS -
Your rental home allows you to check-in directly at the property. Check-in typically becomes available BETWEEN 4:00 - 6:00 PM on the day of your scheduled arrival. As soon as your rental is ready for check in, we will send you a text message with all of your check-in instructions. Please understand that all homes must be cleaned and inspected before we are allowed to issue access details and you are not allowed to be at the property until you have received that text message.

PREPARING FOR YOUR VACATION -
All our vacation rentals include fully equipped kitchens, basic small appliances (microwaves, coffee makers, toasters), pillows, comforters/bedspreads, television(s) and more! Our vacation homes do not supply consumable items for guest use (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, soap, spices, cleaning products, etc.). Please plan accordingly for any items you may need during your stay.

You are welcome to bring your own linens, or we provide a linens rental service for your convenience. Some homes provide complimentary linens for select dates and this detailed information can be found in the description. Linen package options include BRONZE (bed sheets only per bed listed), SILVER (bed sheets per bed listed, a bath towel set per occupancy, dish towel, and a bath mat per shower/tub), and GOLD (all items from the SILVER package plus one extra bath towel per occupancy).

TOPSAIL ISLAND GENERAL INFO-
WiFi: WiFi signal strength is NOT guaranteed at your rental for remote work or remote learning. We are located on a barrier island and do not have cellular towers on the island. This, coupled with the increase of guests in our area, creates an inconsistent cellular signal that is outside of our control and therefore, compensation is NOT given.

Beach Nourishment: Beach nourishment projects help preserve and protect Topsail Island’s shoreline. Most projects are scheduled annually between November and April and may involve large pipes on the beach, trucks moving sand, and other equipment to rebuild and maintain our dunes. Timelines and locations can shift without notice, and we are not always informed in advance. While we understand this may impact your beach experience, refunds or compensation will not be provided for disruptions related to beach nourishment. For the latest updates, we recommend checking the town websites for Topsail Beach, Surf City, or North Topsail Beach. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions about potential beach impacts during your stay.

Water Pressure Notice: Please be aware that during popular rental dates, especially in the mornings and evenings, there may be temporary reductions in water pressure. This is a common occurrence across the island as many visitors are getting ready for the day or returning from the beach. We recommend planning showers and other water-related activities accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Public Parking: The Town of Surf City enforces “Pay to Park” from March 1-Oct 31 from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm in the Surf City Public Beach Access Parking Lots and other marked Public Parking Lots. The Town of North Topsail Beach will enforce “Pay to Park” from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM year-round. Onslow County operates three public parking areas/beach accesses within the Town of North Topsail Beach. To the best of our knowledge the county intends to continue operating these lots free of charge.

Leave No Trace: Topsail Island enforces a "Leave No Trace" policy in order to protect our shoreline, meaning you must remove all items, including tents and chairs, from the beach each day. Any items left behind are subject to theft, removal by the town, or possibility of being washed away by the ocean.

Turtle Nesting Season: From May to October, Topsail Island is a nesting ground for sea turtles. Be mindful of marked nests, limit oceanside deck lights, and follow local guidelines to protect them.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sea La Vie. The weather could have been better but the proximity to the ocean was awesome and the neighborhood was family and dog friendly and very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

5 star location with amenities a 1 out of 5. Outdoor dining chairs rusted and unusable, lots of exterior deferred maintenance, interior could use a deep clean and a refresh of the entire indoor furnishings.

My wife and I took our 18 and 12 year old daughters, along with two of our furry kids. The neighborhood is super calm and quiet. We have stayed beach front several times, and while this property lacks in updated decor, it more than makes it up based on the previous points made. Not to mention price point. My family really enjoyed this vacation. Would absolutely recommend if you want the ocean darn near your bottom step at high tide.

Property was great. The process of renting from Access Realty was Quite the experience. I’ve been using rental companies for 30+ years. With all the communications and required documents and documents and signing and signing and so on I felt like they were treating the rental as if I was buying it. Maybe they are new or maybe they have been burned in the past with other renters, but it was really bad. I can assure you if I see Access is handling another property that I am looking to rent, I will hesitate to rent that property. The rental home itself was very good. Very clean, and great location. Would love to say I would rent again, but not with Access Realty.

While the listing is fairly clear, things like linens are not included in your rental, it felt like this property was lacking a lot of basic needs that normally are included in the rental cost. Things not included or an additional charge were: linens and towels, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels) garbage bags, dishwashing soap, laundry soap, hand soap etc. The property also makes you sign a grill waiver but charges extra to rent the grill. Overall the location and house were amazing but I did not like all the hidden costs after renting especially for things that felt should have been included.

Would definitely stay again. It’s location on the island is close to everything you need. Perfect views from your porch right on the beach. Only knock is if your planning on doing computer work the WiFi isn’t the best. Other than that it was a great stay.

The house was older, one story, beachfront that we wanted. Our issues were: The refrigerator ice maker never worked. (Bought ice for a week). The fridge water dispenser did not work. The interior of the fridge had a strong raw-fish odor that permeated fresh foods placed inside. The kueric coffee maker would not brew coffee. We bought white vinegar and cleaned it 3 times to no avail so I had bourbon and coke with breakfast. (No joke!). Overall…a 5 out of 10.

This property is old but well maintained. It was just me, my husband, and our dog, and it worked well for us. It's very close to the water and has a covered porch that is well shaded in the afternoon, and we enjoyed sitting out there, watching for dolphins (saw two!) and reading. The rental company, Access Realty, was easy to work with. And one thing I appreciated was that the sheets for our beds that we got from them were soft cotton, not thin and scratchy like we've gotten from some other places. All in all, a very good stay!

Being able to walk out the front door to the beach, have morning coffee while watching the waves and always hearing the sound of the sea made this the perfect place for our family. The house was clean, well represented by the photos and a great size for our family of four.

We made this reservation last minute. The location couldn’t have been any better. Such a cute and comfortable cottage. I would suggest getting some more silverware and better glassware and dishes. There were only exactly 7 spoons and with 7 guests we were daily having to wash dishes.

I thought everything was nice. Great view, it was comfortable. My only three complaints were: You could not turn the air conditioner below 72 degrees. Since you could not turned down the air conditioner, we had all the ceiling fans going, they were quite noisy. Also the cookware was terrible, I suggest you bring your own frying pan.

We had a great few days at this little cottage with 3 kids and our dogs, and we would/will come back again. Most everything was a positive- including the beach location and proximity to surf city restaurants. All rooms had comfy beds and blankets. It was awesome there was a half bath in addition to the main bathroom. The negatives are ticky tacky- but could really improve the stay- another gate on the ocean side of deck would be tremendously helpful for the dogs, a regular coffee pot not just a keurig, a few comfortable deck chairs like rockers, and better plates and cups and mugs (all old and pans in bad shape). The other thing is the garbage disposal didn’t work.

This beach house was exactly what we hoped for! Steps to the beach, dolphins swimming past, great beach walks and delightful shells, and about 200 shark teeth! Comfy, clean, and simple- what a treat!
