Hicks will have you enjoying your vacation as soon as you walk in! This home's freshly updated interior, remodeled kitchen, new flooring throughout, and tall windows and a slider in the living and dining areas give way to splendid views of the Atlantic Ocean. The charm of the knotty pine planked wall and newly installed flooring will inspire the family to stay much longer than the time you have reserved at the Hicks beach house. The views continue in the master bedroom which also provides slider access to the oceanfront sundeck. Come relax, enjoy, then repeat!

Stunning View!

We throughly enjoyed our stay! The view was amazing and back deck was so enjoyable. We enjoyed the beach every day. The house was well stocked and the beds were super comfortable. The beach was not crowded with the exception of Memorial day but that is to be expected. The rest of the week was quiet. Bring your own beach towels. We forgot them and went and bought some. We will definitely syay here again! Carolina Realty was great to work with.

With minimal cost, time, and work this beachfront house could go from just okay, to spectacular

We so wanted to fall in love with this property, making it our go-to beachfront dog friendly yearly vacation spot, but until the following list is addressed, we just won't be coming back: -ceiling fans are covered in caked on dirt, and some don't work. -windows, door, and eves at the front of the house are covered in caked on sand from the last storm. -screens in the kitchen and master bath are disintegrated. -there was no toilet paper or paper towels when we arrived, not even on the toilet paper holders, and we both got trapped on the toilets with no TP in sight! -almost ever single rug is loaded with sand underneath them. -all the baseboards in every room were covered in dust-bunnies and fur when we arrived. -the sliding door in the master bedroom doesn’t work. -the sliding door in living/diningroom has no lock. -the AC stopped working properly towards the end of our stay due to a need to "change filter" according to the panel. Overall everything was very tighty when we arrived, but not clean. We had to spend our first afternoon and evening cleaning the place to be ready for all of our family to show the next day...just not what we should have had to do on the first day of our vacation. With a little cleaning and work this place could be a first class gem!

Great house but beds are NOT comfortable

We had a great time staying at Hicks, but I have to point out that the beds in two of the three bedrooms were extremely hard and uncomfortable (master bed and twin beds). We are not ones to complain or be picky, but they were so bad that we won't be staying at Hicks again. :( Overall the house was great---the kitchen was big with plenty of dishes etc, the living space was large with comfortable furniture, the decor was nice......and we could even overlook the very small master bath shower and the deck chairs that are a bit too short to get the full view of the ocean.....but the beds, there are unfortunately a deal breaker. :(

Very clean and very nice property. View is amazing as is access to beach.

Only real improvements I would suggest is improving the master bed mattress! I like a firm mattress, but this one was a brick! Had to go out and buy a memory foam mattress pad to get a good nights sleep. The other suggestion would to be to replace short deck chairs with taller one so your view is not of the railing . Surrounding properties have done this and I’m sure their guests appreciate a better view when relaxing on the deck ‘

Great location and on the beach

We really liked this house and hope to rent it again on future trips. It is very usable and is clean. Not a modern place but a good spot to stay. The location right on the sand is it’s strength. We were two couples who don’t need a bunch of space and luxury. Glad we stayed there.

Decent house option for the location

House was pretty good. Location is the real seller. Very well decorated and thought out design as far as the furnishings go. Couldn't rave enough about that. Has what you need and rooms are decent size. Relatively clean and bug free home. It's definitely a dog home. Lots of dog hair. Evident the pillows shams comforters rugs aren't washed frequently enough. I washed all the pillow covers etc when I got there Bc I saw some slobber on one of them. Cleaning was alright but saw a lot of dust under beds and in closets ...kids have a way of finding that for you. Haha. Dog hair is hard to manage, I know. So, the house is an obvious flip house and I think the finishing Punchout/ paint /trim / drywall work could be better to make it feel a little more luxurious. Adding a partial rear porch roof would make this an ideal home. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and can't bea the location. Nice part of the island beach wise.

Very nice house with an awesome view

This was our first visit to Topsail Beach and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . We rented through Topsail Reality and they are great! The house was very nice with a view of the ocean as far as the eye can see. Kitchen had everything we needed. The furniture on the other hand was not comfortable nor were the beds. I tried every bed in the house. I realize you don't go to the beach to sit and sleep but when a family member is not in good health it does them good just to get away with beautiful surroundings. For what you have to pay at least the beds should be comfortable. We intend on visiting Topsail Beach again real soon.

Cozy well-appointed home with views, views, views!

This worked well for our 4-person family plus dog. Kitchen is large with bar overhang to feed kids. Cooked many meals using supplied kitchen cookware, was not wanting for much. Water supply on stairs from the beach up to the house was great for hosing off the dog. Only negative was master bath shower is tiny but can shower while looking at the ocean so who cares. Had a lovely vacation, thanks!
