The most amazing home located between Bedford & Halifax, this wonderful home provides a great base to explore all of Nova Scotia!
Well known China Town on the waterfront for an evening meal.
Close to all major highways. Approx. 10 minutes to downtown Halifax. Movie theaters, Costco, many box stores, grocery stores approximately 5 minutes away.

- Two decks (private deck from one of the bedrooms) and a side yard with a patio area provides a fantastic balance of indoor/outdoor living space with breathtaking views of the Bedford Basin.
- Centrally located between Bedford and Halifax, travelling in town, or province wide is easy!
- Beautiful lot with abundant wildlife.
- Custom floors with inlays
- Live edge bar top
- Carrera antique marble fireplace (non operational)
- Spiral staircase
- Bedroom 1 on the main floor has Queen sized canopy bed
- Bedroom 2 upstairs has a Queen sized bed which over looks the harbour and has a large sky light
- Bedroom 3 upstairs has Queen sized canopy bed overlooking the private wooded area on the side of the house
- Bedroom 4 has a Queen sized bed where you can watch the deer through the double glass doors overlooking the private deck
- 3 great sitting areas on the main floor. Sip your morning coffee while snuggled in the comfy couches at the front of the house and enjoy the view of Halifax Harbour, or play chess on our games table. Just behind that is a cute little nook next to the non-operational fireplace. There is also a comfortable sitting area to watch TV.
- The main floor bathroom has a walk-in shower.
- The upstairs bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub for you to relax in.
- There is a washer and dryer in the basement.
- NO PARTIES!

Beautiful bakery, restaurant, fruit and vegetable market- cafe across the street. Eat in or outside overlooking the water. As well across the street is Birch and Anchor, a well known restaurant on the water, recommended making reservations as it is a very busy spot. Again a 5 minute walk away. Major shopping and grocery stores 5 to 10 minutes away.

Hemlock Ravine park a 2 minute drive away.

Several beaches , as close as 5 minutes away. Nova Scotia has many beautiful beaches and hiking trails to explore.

Bus stop in front of property on the Bedford Highway. Parking on site. 10 minute drive to downtown.

10-15 minutes to downtown Halifax, 45 minutes to world famous Peggy's Cove, 45 minutes to Chester, and 55 to Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. A few minutes to Kearney Lake. Queensland beach, chocolate lake, crystal crescent beach all within 10 to 30 minutes away. Hemlock Ravine park is a 2 minute drive away. Beautiful hiking trails and a heart shaped pond for lovely photos, and sitting to watch and feed the ducks.
Cinemas and major shopping is a 5 to 10 minute drive away.

Could be better if maintenance was done correctly

The rental price is high and we expected better. Several small lacks of maintenance on the house. We still enjoyed our stay in Halifax but we will not return to this place.

Your review

Too long of a step up and down at entrance - not safe. Broken kitchen bar chair also not safe. Placed it in the basement. Shower floor needs scrubbing. Nice night view off of deck with lights reflecting off of water.

Great family home just outside halifax!

We had a great at this VRBO! The location was wonderful, with it being a short drive into downtown Halifax and having the local market and the Birch and Anchor pub so nearby. The accommodation itself was very spacious, with large bedrooms and really great common area in the kitchen and living room, which was great for spending time with our group. Additionally, having the property/balcony overlook the harbour was quite nice, especially at sunset. No complaints at all, would happily come back.

Scenic, peaceful, and easy to get to downtown

Our week in this house was enjoyable. The elevated deck looking out across the water was spectacular. The house is vintage but in good repair; everything was clean, tidy and worked perfectly. We usually cook a lot in our rentals but didn’t here because of the many nice restaurants in the region. Parking was adequate, if a little tight for our larger pickup truck. We absolutely would like to return.

Family Weekend in Halifax

Had a really good weekend in Halifax with Family. The property was in a great location with hiking trails nearby for the dogs and the market across the street. Kitchen was well equipped and it was a nice touch to have some of the basics included like coffee, shampoo etc. Would stay again.

Comfortable and Cozy stay

We loved this property. The host communicated well and included small items that made our stay pleasant. The place was cozy, inviting and the view was great as well. Instructions were simple and easy to follow. Would highly recommend!

Holly was absolutely fantastic to deal with. She was literally just a email away. Response was within the 1/2 hour or sooner. The house was clean and well stocked. We were a party of 7 and enjoyed our stay immensely.

Family visit

Details of this rental were clear & thorough, location is central for Halifax area and easy to get around. We had unusually warm weather for (Sept) so thankfully there was AC and lots of fans for the 4 bedrooms. Kitchen functioned well, and bathroom amenities were welcomed While the property is older & thus less modern it had classic east coast charm. Great place to stay for 4-6 people!

Lovely stay near Halifax

The property is beautiful and gives a gorgeous view of the ocean from the living room and deck area. Area is lovely, very close to the Bedford Farmer's market. Only small thing would be that the air conditioning mentioned is actually a portable air conditioner, not central air. It was very hot during our stay, so the property was quite warm. The hosts were very accommodating though, and even brought over an extra window air conditioner for us, which helped a lot. Host was very responsive and helpful when we had questions during our stay.

Wonderful Place to stay

The house was in a great location. The views were outstanding. The beds were comfy. It was clean and well set up to house our family. The owners were extremely attentive, yet gave us the space we needed. Will definitely return!

Enjoyable stay

Overall a lovely property. The outside needs a little maintenance - window screens, patio... the location was ideal and waking up to views of Bedford basis never gets old. Trees and bushes need trimming, lots of spiders as a result. But a magical place nonetheless.

Night away with the girls!

Great location, lots of space and supplies for own food preparation, nice view, quiet neighborhood. The bed rooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean. We had a hard time getting the house warm, and there were lots of spider webs and spiders (killed about 10 in 2 hours). All in all we had a great girls night.

Beautiful house with a stunning view

We rented this house for a 2 month stay and it was great! This character house is quite large and the view of the Bedford basin is stunning. We enjoyed having coffee on that beautiful deck, the sunrises were out of this world. Everything we needed was already there, ie, the kitchen is well equipped, extra bed linens, etc. The bedrooms are all beautiful and so unique. The kids were amazed at the deer roaming around the area. Overall a fantastic stay.
