"The property is at a very calm place and has been running since 1650 which is amazing fact. The room I’ve stayed in was a attic converted into a room. The room and bed was good but felt a old smell which needs made it feel that it needs a room freshner across the rooms and houses. There was good and spacious car park and within 10-15 min drive from lot of English heritage sites. I would like to see a bottled water in rooms along with towels as it felt wrong to grab water from sink.

"Room was dated but clean and comfortable. Staff were attentive and happy to help.
Breakfast menu had a good choice, I chose a full English, which was lovely.
Great choice of beers at the bar, at least six of which are brewed in house. Wonderful.
Only stayed one night should have been two just to taste those beers."

"Check in was straightforward, I arrived earlier than check in but was able to access my room. Room was clean & bright & roomy. Large comfy bed & all facilities.
Well positioned for visiting Bury St Edmunds & surrounding area. Lovely village pub which was popular with locals.

"Great place to stay if you’re off to the races, 15mins by car or Taxi.
The pub does not provide a breakfast but their evening meals are good, and the staff are friendly.
The rooms are at the back of the pub and have ensuite bathrooms, tea, coffee and water bottles in the mini fridge. The linen and towels were all fresh and the bed very comfortable. "

"Overall cleanliness was OK. The bathroom looked newly refurbished, however the shower caddy was rusty and the soap dispensers were empty. No parking but there is a car park behind the hotel, also from the road isn’t easy to spot as it looks like a restaurant from the front. Breakfast was OK, one choice of coffee only included in the price. Overall the hotel is clean and comfortable. "
