We booked this stay based on the price, pet-friendly policy, and positive reviews/photos. Unfortunately, our experience did not match expectations.The property is about 15 minutes from Mobile, which was fine, but arriving in the evening was difficult—there is little to no outdoor lighting, making the walk from the parking area unsafe and unwelcoming.Our first unit had a dead, smashed frog and dirt on the floor. Calls went to voicemail, though the host did respond to my VRBO message and moved us to another unit. Unfortunately, that unit was extremely damp. The towels and linens were damp to the touch, and the bed linens smelled strongly of sour mildew, as though left wet in the washer. After a 9 hour drive and late arrival, we had no choice but to try to sleep on them the first night. It was miserable—we got almost no rest. The next day, we had to purchase our own linens, along with extra towels, hand soap, and sponges, just to be comfortable.Other issues included:•Only one towel and washcloth per guest; host promised more but never delivered.•No bathroom rug, toiletries, or even hand soap.•Flickering bathroom light bulb that had to be removed.•Dead gnats on the window sill near the A/C.•No paper towels or sponge in the kitchenette.•TV not set up for guest use.The décor was nice, but the negatives outweighed the positives. Between the dampness, lack of essentials, and unfulfilled promises, we would not return.
