"This time we stayed in the Cottage. It was a separate unit behind the main house. Easy to enter using the code I was emailed. The cottage was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a claw foot tub and a wraparound shower curtain. The room A/C was excellent. It was very comfortable all day and night. The ceiling fan was whisper quiet. The cottage included a kitchen area with a half-size refrigerator/freezer, counter top, cabinets, tableware, microwave, and a table....

"My husband and I loved our stay at the Carr Mansion! This historical home was charming, clean, and comfortable. Joellyn was a fabulous host; she served delicious breakfast and offered several tips/ recommendations for activities around the island. The location of the home is near to several other historical landmarks/ museums, the Strand, and the Seawall. "Great view; friendly staff; very clean. Only complaint would be only 1 very slow elevator for the entire hotel. Also the one night we were tired and were going to eat in the restaurant at the hotel they closed early without notice leaving us to scramble outside the hotel for food with a very tired toddler. Overall we had a very fun vacation."

"If you want to stay near the pier and good restaurants this is the place to stay. Room 407 had an amazing view of the pier. Friendly staff. Private entrance to The Spot, which is one of our go to places to eat. Has a small play area for the kids. Good pool for the kids too. Doesn't have any shade on the pool though. Cons: not only do you have to pay for parking, the parking garage is actually behind the building across a street. I mean its helpful that its in a garage to block out the TX heat....

"Elevator was broken had to walk stairs because of long wait."

"The room was nasty. They take a deposit and specify “to make sure no animals, etc” I walk into a pee spot on the floor. Literally. I call Down to the RUDE woman at the front who tells me “it is a spilled drink from years ago they cannot get up”. It is definitely pee, I have pictures. Bathroom and balcony are disgusting, room stunk and fridge didn’t work. All vending machines were broken, 2nd shift person was SO RUDE AND UNHELPFUL IT WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE."

"The home was nice. Just a short walk to the pier, the trollies and the beach. Not much of a need to drive many places. We loved that part. It is very close to some bars. We had a bunch of kids and was concerned about that but no one bothered us and it wasn't noisy. The neighbors were friendly who lived around there. Very minor complaints and they were just inconveniences."
