Golden is a rugged mountain town in the heart of BC’s adventure corridor, surrounded by six national parks and known for its breathtaking views, endless outdoor activities, and small-town charm. Walking distance to downtown, this property puts you close to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, the Columbia River, and local shops, cafés, and restaurants. Enjoy world-class skiing in winter and hiking, biking, rafting, and wildlife viewing in summer.

With easy access to the Trans-Canada Highway, Golden is an ideal base for exploring Banff, Yoho, and Glacier National Parks. While a personal vehicle is recommended to fully enjoy the area, limited options are available for travelers without one.

‣ Golden’s compact downtown is walkable, and there are scenic trails and riverside paths nearby. Perfect for walking or biking.

🚕 LOCAL TAXI SERVICE:
‣ While ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft are not available in Golden, Mount 7 Taxi is Golden`s primary taxi service, operating 24/7. They offer local rides, private transfers, and shuttle services to nearby areas.

🚙 RENTAL CAR:
‣ To explore beyond Golden, like Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Yoho National Park, or Glacier National Park, a rental car is ideal. While there are no car rental agencies in Golden, rentals can be arranged in nearby cities or at Calgary International Airport (3 hours away) for those seeking extended travel options.

🚘 PERSONAL VEHICLE:
‣ The town is car-friendly. Free street parking is generally available and driving in and around Golden is straightforward. Most attractions are within a short drive, and the Trans-Canada Highway makes day trips easy.

🚌 SHUTTLES/BUS/TRAIN:
‣ Public transit is limited in Golden. The `Mountain Man Mikes` shuttle or `Rider Express` offers limited regional service. Check schedules in advance online.

⚠️ PRE-ARRIVAL REQUIREMENTS (AFTER BOOKING) ⚠️

To ensure a smooth and secure check-in, ALL guests must complete a short pre-arrival process AFTER the booking is confirmed. This is managed through a preferred third-party guest portal and helps protect both you and the home. This verified process keeps everything platform compliant and ensures a worry-free stay for both guests and hosts.

Here’s what to expect:

‣ Damage Waiver ($56-82 depending on length of stay) – Covers accidental damage up to $700. (No deposit hold required)

‣ Refundable Security Deposit ($700) – Pre-authorization only; collected 24 hours before check-in and released 5 days after checkout if no damages, missing items, or issues.

❗PLEASE NOTE: The damage waiver covers accidental damage only. It does not cover smoking, intentional or negligent damage, policy violations, or pet-related issues. Such costs may be charged separately or submitted through a Resolution Center. By booking, you confirm your agreement to these terms.

🐾 PET-FRIENDLY COMFORT
‣ Your pets are welcome here, and we’ve designed the home with that in mind! Please let us know in advance if you`re bringing a furry friend so we can prepare the home with extra care.

🐾 Pet Fee Structure (per pet):
‣ $50 for stays of 1–6 nights (automatically added where platform-supported)
‣ $150 for 7–13 nights
‣ $300 for stays of 14+ nights

❗Please note: Pet fees are not included in the advertised nightly rate beyond 6 night stays. If you`re bringing more than one pet or staying longer than 6 nights, additional fees will be added separately after booking.

🐾 Pet Rules:
‣ Pets must be supervised and pre-approved
‣ No pets on furniture or beds
‣ Pet waste must be picked up. Clean-up issues = $100 fee
‣ Excess hair or odors may result in additional cleaning fees
‣ Unregistered pets = $200 fee per pet

⏰ EARLY CHECK-IN / LATE CHECK-OUT
‣ We are strict on check-in and check-out times due to cleaning needs, but may allow up to 2 hours of flexibility with at least 24 hours’ notice. A small fee may apply and is subject to approval, as early arrivals or late departures aren’t always possible. If the home is ready sooner, we’ll let you know.

🧳 LOST OR FORGOTTEN ITEMS
‣ Please double-check before leaving. Items left behind are stored for 14 days, then donated or discarded. Coordination for pickup or return will incur a shipping and admin fee. We are not responsible for items left, lost, or damaged after departure.

📦 MAIL & PARCELS
‣ We do not have access to a mailbox at this property. Please do not use our address for receiving mail. If you require postal service, contact a local post office for options. For larger parcels, arrange door drop-off or depot pick-up. We are not responsible for retrieving, storing, or replacing any mail or packages that are lost, delayed, or mis-delivered.

🛠 MAINTENANCE & ACCESS
‣ Emergencies may require entry without notice. For non-emergencies, we will always provide notice where possible. Guests will always receive a message from us as soon as possible in all situations.

💳 CANCELLATIONS
‣ For bookings where Contigo Properties is the payment processor, a 10% non-refundable processing fee applies at the time of booking. Cancellations and refunds follow the Contigo Properties Cancellation Policy provided at reservation for these platforms. If any site displays “free cancellation,” the Contigo Properties policy takes precedence. By booking, guests authorize Contigo Properties to charge the card on file per the agreed payment schedule and acknowledge that chargebacks for authorized transactions are not permitted.

‣ Guests are responsible for their group. The property owner and/or management company is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage. Please report any damage promptly and return all provided items to avoid additional charges. Legal action may be taken for chargebacks or unpaid damages, including recovery of legal fees. Violations of house rules may result in immediate termination and removal without refund. Please remember you’re staying in our home, not a hotel, treat it with care and respect.
