Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay due to an aggressive and abusive resident. After receiving a meal he was not satisfied with (and declining a full refund that was quickly offered) the resident verbally abused staff for 10 minutes using racial slurs, calling them ‘peasants’ and ‘servants’, swearing, threatening them and smashing his hands and food on the counter. A member of our party stepped in to assist the two female staff and to protect the young children in our group who were clearly very distressed by this incident, only to be threatened himself. He was also then chased and abused by this heavily intoxicated man. After throwing several pieces of furniture, worn out, he retired to bed. Not before further verbally abusing a young boy (also a resident). We were told by ‘locals’ this is a regular occurrence.

The staff were accommodating and were eager to assist. The check in process was easy and the restaurant and bar had excellent options for a late Sunday evening.
The room was clean and well presented. Great view.
