"The lower level rooms are actually Basement. They play a trick to call them lower level rooms instead of Basement rooms. The London Underground trains are beneath the hotel and make noises. I asked to upgrade to upper level rooms but rejected. The room is clean but the bath room is very small. There is no place to hang towels. Not recommended to book their lower level rooms."

"I stayed here a few months ago and I had hoped it had improved, however if anything it was worse. The bathrooms are something out the 1970s, the bath was marked with limescale and in the first room I was given the bath plug was almost impossible to get out and the bath was chipped. In that room the window was stuck open about 20cm and despite the efforts of a maintenance man it would not close. "Absolutely gem, the superior room is super spacious with an incredibly comfy big bed, beautiful bedding with sumptuous linens, high-quality pillows and duvet. I’m always dubious when rooms are called soundproof but this really was. We were in the first floor and it was silent - a miracle in central London!
