This charming mountain cabin tucked cozily away high atop Ski Mountain is the perfect Smoky Mountain getaway location! Our guests will enjoy the privacy of being on the border of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park! This large, one bedroom cabin, exclusively for a couple, is located less than 1 mile from Ober Mountain Ski Resort and approximately 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg . Being on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park allows visitors the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful panoramic seasonal views and to have a front row seat as the seasons unfold in the Smokies! Cherished memories are sure to be made in this romantic retreat from your everyday world as you enjoy the views complete with the Ober Mountain Aerial Tram periodically passing by in the distance.

From the moment you arrive at this charming cabin, a rustic, romantic atmosphere will surround you. Enjoy preparing meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The living area is a wonderful place to spend time as you snuggle up by the stone gas fireplace (Operational Oct-March) on the leather sofa or comfy recliner and enjoy a DVD on the Blue-ray player from our collection, a movie via Netflix, or your favorite TV show on the 50 inch flat screen TV. The main level also features a game room with a full size pool table and game table. Games, playing cards and puzzles are provided for your convenience. Relax and enjoy the beautiful views as you sit out on the upper deck from the rocking chairs or the porch swing.

The lower level provides a romantic setting for two: Watch your favorite movies from the comfortable king size log canopy bed on the 40 inch flat screen TV above a second cozy gas fireplace (operational Oct-March). A private area with a large Jacuzzi tub is just off the bedroom, as well as a large master bath with an over sized shower. The covered lower deck off the bedroom area provides our guests a private area in which to relax in the large inviting hot tub while viewing the lights of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge by night and the aerial tram and beautiful mountain views by day.

You can plan a private cookout for two on the park-style charcoal grill located near the entry of the cabin. If you choose to go out for dinner, you will find excellent dining choices just a few miles down the mountain in downtown Gatlinburg or at Ober Mountain Ski Resort and Amusement Park. You may choose to drive a very short distance and park at Ober Mountain and ride the Aerial Tram down the mountain to dine or shop in the many unique shops downtown. As a member of Chalet Village Owner's Club please use our membership card provided for access to three club houses on the mountain, each with pools (seasonal) and recreational areas. This card also offers discounts at numerous attractions and restaurants in the Gatlinburg Area. You are sure to find the ingredients for a perfect Smoky Mountain getaway at Smoky Mountain High!

Smoky Mountain High is a smoke-free cabin, two person maximum occupancy (both guests must be 25 years of age or older), and pets are not allowed which helps to provide for an allergen-free environment for our guests. Our location is not suitable for trailers and/or motor cycles. Thank you for observing these policies.

If you are searching for a place to stay in Gatlinburg your search should end right here. Me and my girlfriend had a perfect trip thanks to Paula and Keith and I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else when we come back. We don’t have enough kind words to share about this chalet!

MOUNTAIN BEARADISE

Very clean chalet, Beautiful floor plans, it's a little high on the mountain but not too bad to drive to. It's perfect for a couples get away! The property owner message me a couple of times responded very fast, Pool table and hot tub a must for us. We saw 5 bears of all sizes cross over from the chalet to our right into the Great Smoky mtns national Park which is just behind the chalet. Highly recommend in the winter also just a short drive to Ober Ski Resort.

Lovely Chalet

We really enjoyed the amenities this Chalet offered. The hot tub was a great place to relax after a long hike in the park. The chalet was very clean. Proximity to the park entrance was great! Close to the action in Gatlinburg, but a very quiet area.

Can’t wait to come back!

Everything was amazing even from before booking! This was my and my husband’s first time staying in Gatlinburg. We searched through probably 50-75 different cabins, read through reviews of at least 20, and then reached out to 3-5 hosts once we had narrowed our search. Between the pictures and the reviews, I was already pretty sold on on this cabin. I sent the same question to the hosts of all the cabins we were looking at: we would be arriving very late at night we’re not familiar with the area, and were concerned about how the check in process would work and road conditions while we were there. I expected a reply within a day or so. Paula replied within an hour or two and it was very obvious from her reply how important it is to them that their guests are well taken care. That was just the beginning of our amazing stay. The communication was top notch throughout the entire stay. They give very detailed information closer to the time of the reservation from typed out directions in case you don’t have a phone signal to restaurants and activities they recommend. They made sure the lights were on outside since they knew we would be arriving late as well as a few lights in the cabin. There’s notes throughout the cabin and clear instructions on how everything works, not to mention the wonderful bear theme throughout the cabin. It’s very clear that they take pride in being hosts and we are already talking about coming back again in the future for another anniversary.

Top of the Mountain Sanctuary

Smoky Mountain High Chalet

The hosts provided lots of nice "extras" that added to our vacation enjoyment, including leaving on some lights for our late arrival, a "just in case it snows" (which it did) food basket, & especially the Christmas decorations throughout the chalet for our late November-early December visit. The chalet provided a good base for our other explorations around Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, & the Great Smoky Mountain Mountains National Park. It was also a comfortable place to just relax for a couple of our days.

Chalet in the Mountains

Home was beautifully decorated and the views were gorgeous. Had a wonderful anniversary getaway. Property owner was incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home. Would definitely come back and stay in this chalet.

Great Stay!

A great stay up in the mountains. Chalet was very clean and the host was super helpful with everything. You could tell a lot of care went into the place. My wife and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in and around Gatlinburg!

A relaxing stay.

The property was just as advertised and exactly what we wanted. A short, beautiful drive into Gatlinburg but far enough away to not know it was there. Wonderful mountain views. A great place to just kick back but we also enjoyed just driving the mountain roads, stopping for a roadside picnic and just getting lost (sort of) for a little while. If you want to see bears, this is the place to go, we saw several everyday with one being only about 15 feet from our front door as we were about to leave. Our hosts were the perfect blend of available and caring with minimal contact. We would certainly return to this property.
