"This was the best stay during our visit of sri lanka. We stayed there with our bigger kids and another family. The house has four rooms with AC. One with four beds which was perfect for the kids. The house and the Garden has several cosy places to stay and relax and have some space. My favorite place were the sunbeds overviwing the beach. The villa golden staff is just perfect. "Schade um die schöne Lage! Das Hotel ist „am zerfallen“! Es funktioniert nur wenig (Safe lässt sich nicht öffnen, wifi funktioniert im Zimmer nicht, kein warmes Wasser usw.) Für diese „Leistung“ ist der Zimmerpreis massiv überteuert und kann auch nicht mit der schönen Lage gerechtfertigt werden."

A/C in the rooms and a ceiling fan that can be turned up high if preferred to A/C. Bed very comfortable and spotless sheets. Short tuk tuk ride from the fort (maybe 2km?) for $1.50. Little hard to find at first without calling - mention Bandaranayika Place to tuk tuk. Maybe a clearer sign on the road by the drive? and the ebookers map showed it near the coast road...
