Cosy "log cabin style" cottage at the foothills of the mountains in Gloucester

Coolabah Cottage is on the edge of the Hunter Valley is a picturesque destination that offers a true taste of the Australian countryside. Perched in the corner of the 12 acre property and surrounded by the green gently undulating hills of a large dairy farm, this charming cottage is a haven for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you’re interested in exploring the great outdoors, or simply relaxing with a glass of local wine, Coolabah has something for everyone. With its comfortable accommodations, warm hospitality, and stunning natural surroundings, it’s the perfect place to disconnect and reconnect with what really matters.

Set on a 12 acres with the beautiful Waukivory Creek running through it, there is lots to explore and have adventures in yet the property is only a ten minute drive from the shops and cafes of Gloucester village. The surrounding cattle are mainly black and white dairy cows. It’s not uncommon for members of the local wallaby population to be seen feeding within metres of the front door and there’s no shortage of Eastern Rosella’s, Crimson Rosella’s, Rainbow Lorikeets and King Parrots to be seen frequenting the surrounds.

Most of the property is green pastures. It’s a great walk through the property and along the creek which has swimming holes and a small row boat.

The cottage is set in a well-established park like area, complete with tennis court with magnificent picturesque views. It is a spectacular spot. In summer the slope catches and accentuates cooling breezes but protects from southerly weather in winter. In the cooler months a fog is formed on the paddocks so the front lawn, just above the fog line, seems to border a vast white lake.

Coolabah usually sleeps eight with a maximum of 10. The house has large bedroom with king bed downstairs and three bedrooms upstairs which are fitted with 2 queen beds and one room with two single beds. A cot is available on request. All linen and towels are provided. There is a private bbq area out the back of the cottage for you to enjoy. Food and good company being all you will need to bring!
