"MARTE Suite" is located in via guelfa 14. On the heart of San Lorenzo neighborhood where local culture meets Medici history. Also it is a lively and picturesque neighborhood, full of shops, restaurants and markets.

"MARTE Suite" can host up to four people: two in a queen-size bed in the bedroom and two in a comfortable sofa-bed in the living room.
Bathroom with large shower, wooden floor and chromotherapy lights.
Renovated with high quality materials and designed to offer maximum comfort just to LET YOU FELL AT HOME.
Fully furnished kitchen with four burners, pots, cutlery, glasses and dishes; fridge and freezer, traditional oven and microwave air conditioning, TV, washing machine, iron and board, coffè maker, free internet Wi-Fi super-fast fiber , indipendent heating, House linens (sheets & towels) , hair dryer, shampoo and soap.
From the living room you will enjoy a wonderful and relaxing VIEW of the hills around Florence (Fiesole).
As all the ancient ‘800 building of the historical center there’s no elevator, to reach the apartment there is a 60 steps stairs, but as you get up to the top you’ll forget about it.

BEDS:
The standard organization is for 2 people in the main room's king size bed, if you are 2 that want sleep separately (Friends, parents....) LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU BOOK, I provide extra linens and organize the sofa bed.

The location is so central that you can easily get back home any time of the day for a quick rest or a bite and go out again to visit this magnificent city.
It is also the perfect base for a day trip to Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Bologna. Even Rome, Venice and Milan are just a couple of hours away thanks to the high speed train that stops in Santa Maria Novella Train Station.

I'll take care of contacting my guests a few days before your arrival in order to better organize our check in. I give everyone a map of the city and all the necessary information to better enjoy the apartment and the city. That said, I want to emphasize that I am always available for any request of my guests, to help them during their stay in Florence.

Sylvia was a fabulous host! She met us at the apartment and helped us with our bags up the stairs. She gave us many recommendations for restaurants and shopping that were all wonderful. Her apartment has everything you could imagine to ensure that you have the best experience possible. The apartment has been newly renovated. It is clean and beautiful. The location is great. It is quiet for good sleeping. I could not more highly recommend this host and her apartment. I would stay here again!

The perfect place to stay!

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay while in Florence! The apartment is perfectly located - an easy walk to the train station, the central market, and all of the beautiful sites in Florence. It is also perfectly placed among great restaurants and cafes. We enjoyed leaving the windows open at night and the street below was incredibly quiet. Silvia was the perfect host. She was available to us, met us late the evening we arrived to acquaint ourselves with the apartment upon check-in. Above and beyond our expectations. The apartment is very up to date and well-furnished for being in an older building. So charming! We would love to return and stay here again!

The Perfect Place!

Right in the heart of Florence. The apartment is very clean and our host Silvia is the best! Also walking distance to the train station if you are planning to get around Italy via train which we did. We made Florence our home-base and we took trains to Venice, Milan, Lake Como, and Rome. Too many to list, but to keep it short, we will be back again!

2020 Christmas in Florence Italy

This was our 3rd trip back to Florence (2005, 2018; 2nd time in 2 years!). Sylvia's unit(s) are exceptional. She is a great host and the units are beautiful; centrally located and with modern accommodations. We had the back unit, and our friends had had the front unit. They were equally pleased. Because of her attention to detail you need little to bring, and with the washer you can travel light (we recommend when traveling to Europe to use just a carry on and a back pack). Our unit had a large private bedroom, and plenty of space for the pull out coach in the living room if you are traveling with family. The bathroom was spacious and thoroughly modern. The kitchen was brand new. There is nothing we can say this home did not have. As almost all the European lodgings we have had, there are stairs to climb, so just be sure you are willing do do that. But Florence is an easily walked city, we averaged almost 7 miles a day, and climbing the stairs at night was not an issue (we are in our 60's and in good shape). But Sylvia, she was great! On check-in we spent about an hour talking about Florence and what we've seen and not seen (after 3 trips, we still have more to see). Our second night our friends locked themselves out, and Sylvia was over within the hour. That's the kind of host she is. The apartment is stocked with information and has a great renters book to get you started on your visits. The other thing that makes this unit great is that the tram to Florence airport (which terminates right outside the train station) is literally a 10 minute walk from this apartment. So you fly in, get the tram, walk 10 minutes, and you are there. We plan another trip to Florence to finish our sights (Hall of 500; Secret Pathway), and just eat that wonderful food & drink that wonderful wine, and visit with the nicest people on earth, and we'll be looking to stay with Sylvia again!

WORTH EVERY STEP TO THE TOP

3 of us stayed in Silvia’s “Marte” suite for 3 nights, it was our first stop in Italy and nothing compared the rest of the trip. The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed. Silvia is so sweet and the very best host. Trust me, the steps are worth it to the apartment. We were 3 women age 15, 34 and 60 and we felt safe in the apartment and all around. The location is wonderful for exploring Florence, we walked everywhere. Great coffee and pastry right out the door. Don’t worry about the couch bed if you sleep on it, it is same as a regular bed. Very comfy. The shower and bathroom perfect and clean ! Don’t hesitate, it’s worth the price and the steps for 100% peace of mind. We hope to be back in the future. Thank you Silvia 😊

A great place to stay while in Florence

My wife and I both agree that if we come back to Florence this will be the only place we will stay at. Silvia was an awesome host! She let us know about good restaurants in the area along with the historic sites that are a must see in Florence. The apartment itself is walking distance to almost all of the things you would want to see while in Florence. The apartment was very cozy and clean! You will not regret booking this apartment!

So happy with our stay!

From the first message to our final goodbye, Silvia made our stay as comfortable and easy as possible. First, we loved the location of the apartment - central to everything! We were never really more than a 20 minute walk from anywhere we wanted to visit in Florence. The apartment itself is sleek and modern, spotlessly clean, quiet (so nice even on such a busy street) and comfortable. We used the fold out bed when our daughter visited and she slept comfortably. The main bed is also comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly and even allowed for different temps in the main room or the bedroom. As others have said, the apartment requires a trek up the stairs to get to it, but other than carrying heavy luggage up we came to enjoy the exercise. We wholeheartedly recommend this apartment - thanks dear Silvia for a wonderful stay! PS. One of our favorite restaurants, SimBIOsi is just across the street - get the Tortelli with Butter and Sage :) We also loved Shake Cafe around the corner, and in Piazza San Spirito we loved Gustapanino.

Outstanding apartment & location!

Extremely pleased with our nine day stay! Excellent location within walking distance to museums, shopping, restaurants and transportation. Our host Silvia was welcoming, available and delightful. The apartment is very nice with new furnishings, marble flooring, nice size shower, comfortable bed and a washer (which was a huge plus) The apartment is on the third floor so you do have 63 steps to climb-no elevator. It work out just fine for us. I would definitely recommend and stay again when we return to Florence.

Perfect Stay!

Silvia was delightful, informative and gracious. The check-in process was easy and the apartment was pristine and beautiful! The apartment is in a perfect location, we were easily able to walk everywhere and saw as much as possible in our short 3 days...way too short! Enjoyed the hospitality, location & accommodations

We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, location & accommodations during our stay at the Marte Suite. Our host, Silvia, was very accessible pre-trip to answer questions and coordinate the check in. She was at the location during our pre-arranged time and gave us a thorough walk through & explanation of the neighborhood. The location is close to the sights but not in a noisy area. During the evenings it was very quiet. Easy to walk or take a short taxi ride to the sights in Florence. The accommodations were spacious and kept up. We visited in July so the air conditioning was important to us and it worked perfectly to make the entire interior comfortable. The pictures & description are exactly what you get to enjoy. Hopefully I’ll be returning to Florence in the future and the Marte Suite will be my accommodation choice.

From beginning to end this was a wonderful rental. Thank you Silvia for opening up the property. My wife, 16 yr old daughter and I stayed here 3 nights. The good: - Booking and check-in was great. We told Silvia what time we were getting in and she was there to meet us at the property. 10-15 minutes of going through how everything worked and we were good to go. - Location was outstanding. Close to Accademia and Duomo. Wish we would have know how close the central market was earlier in our stay...we might have tried cooking in the apartment. 8-10minute walk from the railway station. - Noise level/sleeping: Very quiet and when you close the shutters it’s very dark. - Facilities: Washer (no dryer), all the cooking/serving utensils you need, good size fridge, ironing board and iron. Beautiful bathroom with a large shower. A/c worked great when it started to warm up. The bad: - The apartment is up 3 flights of stairs (63-65 steps) so if you have big luggage it might be a challenge. My wife and I are in our 50’s and we managed just fine. Truthfully if you come to Italy and want to see the sights you should be able to handle this no problem. Bottom line: Great Apartment and we would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Florence. Last note: In Florence you will see a lot of ATMs from Euronet; avoid them due to the poor exchange rates and fees. There is one just across the street from the apartment.
