"Great location right in the center of Charleston. The hotel history was very unique. Had a fantastic sleep in the room. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Had a great dinner and also a breakfast for ourselves and friends in the morning. Grounds had a flea market that was fun to walk around. Will be back next summer!"

"Rooms are rather small but clean. Location is excellent - just across the street from the beautiful, not crowded beach. Beach with a lifeguard (which is important to me since I travel with small kids) is just steps away. A short drive to seafood restaurants and such. We will sure return. "

"This was such a great find. The rooms are immaculate. They’re not fancy by any means, but you can tell they take pride in cleanliness and presentation. The front desk staff were great, and they had a nice continental breakfast. I really liked the fact that we could park at the beach and have our own private section of the beach as well by staying there. I didn’t get to use the pool, but it had a nice area and upper deck to go with it. Would absolutely recommend!"

"After lots of driving it was a pleasure to have such a comfortable place to stay. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. The shower worked great and the bed was very comfortable. AC and TV were awesome, and my own keurig for coffee in the AM Had dinner at the Wood River inn, just across the street. Food was really good. "

"This is our second time staying at Shepherd's Run and we loved it again! We stayed during the week (with our 2 kids) and it is very quiet. I know there are weddings there on the weekends. The Inn and grounds are beautiful, the wine and charcuterie boards are amazing, the rooms are big and nicely updated with modern finishes and the breakfast is delicious!! I can't say enough good things about this wonderful Inn! "

"It borders the salt pond which is beautiful and tranquil. There are free kayaks to use on it. There is a nice outdoor shower. Rooms are small but worth it for the location. I went with my son and we were comfortable. but More than 2 in a room might be cramped unless you really like each other. "We had 2 rooms, 1 needed ADA access. It did have the ramp, but no seating chair for the shower and it was located near the b k of the kitchen and the view from the window was the storage areas with beer kegs and what not laying around. The hotel location and the other room with a balcony were great. Need to improve on the ADA room though "

There is a nice hillside view of the natural environment surrounding the place so there is no feeling of being so near to the highway, and he has a nice picnic area and special plants he tends.
