K’Gari ISLAND RETREAT (Fraser Island)

The perfect getaway to switch off from life's stresses. Our little place in Paradise is a short stroll to the beach, Eurong Resort, shops, hotel, restaurant and bakery. Situated in, Eurong 2nd Valley, on the eastern side of the World heritage listed K'Gari (Fraser Island).

It is a solidly built self-sustainable property, with fresh borehole water, solar power and it is cool in summer. Ideal family getaway, sleeping a maximum of 8 people.

It is magical relaxing at the outdoor pergola area. Enjoy every meal. or just chill on the deck area watching the children play.

The property is fully self-contained and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms (toilet and shower in each) with fully equipped kitchen plus combined living/ dining area. Located at the rear of the property. Has access to a freestanding laundry area and a large outside timber gazebo, BBQ and garden area.
• Sleeps a max of 8 people
• Bedroom 1 – 1 x QB
• Bedroom 2 – 1 x QB
• Bedroom 3 – 2 x Double Bunk beds (all single)
• Pillows & Quilts for all bed supplied
• Bring your own linen please (need top & bottom sheets, pillowcases and towels), or you can hire at a minimal cost (Please advise at time of booking. Queens sheets $35 per stay & Single sheets $22 per stay).
• (Zero camping on property)
• Please take all rubbish to Eurong transfer Station when you leave

Our eco-friendly property has solar power system complete with backup generator, plus an endless supply of drinkable water.

LOCATION
Privately positioned at Eurong 2nd valley, on the eastern side the World heritage listed K'Gari (Fraser Island). The property is centrally located and easily accessed.

ACCESSIBILITY
K'gari (Fraser Island) is accessible via barge, either from the western side of the island at Hervey Bay (River Heads) or an easy 30 - 40 minute drive up 75 mile beach from Inskip Point (Rainbow Beach).

The island is for 4-wheel drive vehicles only. Vehicles can be hired from Rainbow Beach or Hervey Bay. You will require a Vehicle Access Permit prior to arrival on Fraser Island.

THINGS TO DO ON K’GARI
The property is perfectly positioned to explore and appreciate the magic that K’Gari has to offer you from:
• Enjoying the serenity of the rainforests (like Central Station).
• Admiring the majestic Island lakes (e.g. Lake McKenzie, Lake Birrabeen, Lake Boomanjin, Lake Wabby).
• Admire nature by strolling down the numerous bushwalking trails.
• Capturing the elegance of the crystal pure creeks (like Wanggoolba Creek at Central Station and Eli Creek).
• Observe the wildlife from dingoes, birdlife, dolphins, whales, stingrays, sharks and so many other amazing creatures.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS
You can enjoy the magical beauty of the island along the eastern beach. Some attractions of the Eastern Beach are the Maheno shipwreck, Eli Creek, the coloured sands, Indian Heads and Champagne Pools. Explore the many scenic drives on the island, 4WD adventures and natural beauties of the island like the sandblows, lakes and creeks.

Lisa was a disaster to deal with fans in some of the bedrooms didn’t work tv satellite didn’t work parking was crap when there’s 90km winds.Definitely will not recommend or be back There’s better places than that?

Seems to be everything is running bay a lack. No one cares, of that someone actually rented out, that house. But money to be paid that is imported. Bad experience.

Parking and Distance to house

Parking and the walk to the residence could be outlined a lot better. For older people it’s a bit of a struggle carrying eskies and other heavy items from the parking area through the yard to the house.

Sufficient

Our stay was sufficient. The kitchen was fairly well equipped. Rooms & bathrooms were reasonably clean & comfortable. We found the house was a tight fit for 7 as the kitchen & lounge area was small with no dining area in the house. There is a large dining table on the deck which we used well. The description says pool but there is definitely no pool at this property. We went to the Eurong Resort & asked if we could use their pool & they said it wasn't a problem so the kids used every afternoon after being at the beach all day. There was no one in the house in front but I guess if there was there would be a lack of privacy & shared bbq area. Overall the house was clean & we slept well each night but is old & small.

Apurla Island Retreat

Our group of 8 stayed for 4 nights. Was great for 2 couples and kids. The house is spacious and well equiped and accommodated us nicely. Would definitely recommend.

House with everything!

Great communication from property owner. Happy to answer any questions and lots of information provided about the property and directions on how to get there! House had everything we needed for a 3 night stay ….. 2 couples with 3 kids aged 14,10 and 6.

Old and mouldy

Odd layout, no door on one bedroom. No plugs in bedrooms. Kitchen fat/grease in cupboard above stove. Building bricks and odd fences around the property. Bathrooms old and mouldy. Lovely lady who we dealt with but I’m pretty sure the reviews said ‘fabulous’. Someone is fudging those reviews. Far from it!

Great location

The house, though small, fit our needs perfectly. Hosts have put in effort to provide all of the kitchen utensils and equipment you could possibly need. BBQ on the deck, and ample, comfortable furniture throughout the house. The location is a real winner, perfectly placed on the island, allowing us to see so many sites of Fraser.

Family and friends Fraser stay
