If you are looking for a central apartment and wanting to experience historical Edinburgh then this is the place to be. This fantastic apartment is located in the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh just a stones through from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. There are a great selection of pubs, restaurants, antique shops etc on your doorstep. This apartment is available for Self Catering & Holiday Lets, Short Term & Corporate Lets, City & Weekend Breaks and the Festival.

The apartment has been stylishly decorated throughout and consists of two double bedrooms, one a very large master bedroom. The good size living room contains a large corner sofa and is open to the fully equipped brand new modern kitchen, which has a breakfast table.
There is a winding staircase to get to the front door so the apartment is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues.
Additional facilities included in this property consist of a large LCD TV, DVD Player, WiFi Internet access, Telephone, Microwave, Washing Machine, Hair Dryer.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Comfortable and safe 2BR apt in amazing location (Victoria St and Grassmarket). Note: Apt is on 1st floor (not ground level) and entrance is up a flight of narrow/tight spiral staircase. Also, due to it's location (near many lively pubs), it can be quite noisy. The apt was ideal for our family with two teens needing separate beds. Walking distance to everything -- and the hop-on-off bus stop just across the street. Hope to visit again!

Fantastic location! This property is located right on Victoria Street (Diagon Alley!) and within a super easy walking distance of the Royal Mile and literally everything. You absolutely cannot beat this spot! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Access to the flat was super easy and our host was helpful and communicative. The space was very comfortable and had pretty much everything we needed. We also really appreciated the snacks left for us. Thank you! Only a few minor negatives, because it is in a popular area, there can be some street/alleyway noise at night. Also, if you have mobility issues, the only way to access the flat is by a flight of stairs. Would definitely stay here again.

Wohnung in super zentraler Lage

Check in hat problemlos geklappt. Die Lage der Wohnung ist perfekt, um die Stadt zu Fuß zu erkunden. Es gibt ausreichend Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe. Etwas weiter entfernt auch einen Supermarkt. Die Wohnung hat alles, was es braucht, ist aber nicht mehr im besten Zustand. Hier müsste mal etwas getan werden. Auch ist es relativ laut aufgrund der zentralen Lage und der schlecht isolierten Fenster.

Sightseeing Edinburgh

The apartment was centrally located with a view of the Grassmarket, spacious, and comfortable. All the sights were within easy walking distance. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return. The booking and subsequent communication with Gavin were excellent. Many thanks to Gavin and Donna.

3 day vacation

Spent 3 days exploring old Edinburgh. The apartment was centralized to walk everywhere. Arthur's seat with an hour.The Castle within 10 minutes Princess street in 20 minutes Only downside was being adjacent to the clubing district down cowgate means alot of noise at 2am. Overall a great spot!

Lovely old place!

This is a great place to stay to visit Old Edinburgh. I love quirky old places right in the heart of historic areas. The place is old so don’t expect a big modern house. It was a bit noisy at night but we had earplugs. It was clean, convenient, and comfortable. Loved it!

Great Experience in the Heart of Edinburgh

Gavin was a great host. Communication was very good. The location of the condo is right in the historic area of the city. We felt very safe and were in awe of the buildings, pubs, stores, coffee shops and walkabity of everything. Just a heads up that there are 33 narrow, spiral stairs up to the unit so accessibility could be an issue for some people. We would highly recommend this place.

Location was great the rest not

The listing when booked said first floor flat. It’s the first floor of flats but it sets above two restaurants the tend to burn food. And a wild spiral staircase. Being from the US first floor is the ground floor we now know things. While the beds were thin mattresses they were reasonably comfortable but the sheets were musty and there were no zipper mattresses covers. There was dust everywhere and some of the dishes were put away in the cupboard dirty. There is chipped paint and cracking everywhere. The windows are cracked in almost every window within the unit. A solid deep clean everything, some minimal Extra items for hygiene like zippered covers on mattresses and pillows and some patching and a solid coat of paint would do this place wonders. Not sure if you can replace glass easily in Scotland like you can on the US but being able to open windows when the fumes from downstairs creep up would be ideal. The location, is spot on, the owners are very informative about the local area. I just think they may want to reconsider their cleaning company. Would stay here again as the price was affordable and the location superb which is why this is rated a 3. It had its quirks but there is always a balance. We did a quick clean and enjoy’d the rest of the week.

Great Location!

This property was in a great location for exploring Old Town Edinburgh. It is right in the heart of shops, dining, pubs, and historical sites. My only caution would be that, because of several pubs nearby, the street noise is a bit louder late into the evening. We traveled in the off season, but during busy times I can imagine that it could be much louder and more raucous outside.

Lovely apartment in a fantastic location. Brand new bathroom which was lovely although property quite dusty (maybe due to bathroom being finished the day before?). Very central and easy to get to places on foot as long as you don’t mind a hill or two! Would definitely recommend.

Really disappointed

Really disappointed by our stay here. The location is great and the kitchen looks new but everything is done to a poor standard making everything feel dirty (new stone worktops and splashbacks) - but the walls didnt look like theyd been painted and there was a clear accumulation of dust on top. Definitely the worst place weve booked on vbro. Bathroom is the worst bit but none of i is particularly well finished; black mould around the shower sealant, together with a bathroom sink that took an age to drain and dusty / dirty skirting boards.There were faults everywhere from the burn mark on the carpet, the missing theshold strip, the mouldy gas pipe, the doors that didnt close properly etc. The lounge seemed nice and looks like its been refurbished but the corner the sofas meet in, has a think layer of dust and wasnt clean.We made the most of it and the location was great, but won be going back or recommending.
