"After a week on a river boat, we booked a night at Hartley House and thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt right at home and the hostess, Kate was remarkable in how she went above and beyond in order to meet our needs. This is the true Ireland in an old, historic house in a quiet country area. "We got a warm welcome from the staff at reception when we arrived which set the scene for a lovely relaxed stay. Our room was clean, well equipped, quiet with a nice view of the garden. We had a nice evening meal in the bar restaurant with excellent service and our breafast was all we could wish for. Wish we were able have stayed a bit longer. Will definitely be back. "

"I booked and prepaid for a double room with en-suite. Upon arrival, when they saw I was alone, I was moved to a single room with restroom down the hall and downstairs. I am a 65 y/o woman, traveling alone. I need a bathroom at night. None of the sinks worked, except for the one downstairs powderoom. "Helpful staff. Excellent service at breakfast - especially the waitress working on her own on Saturday- very efficient. Tea/ coffee station in reception to help yourself was appreciated. Very convenient for the town centre. Would have liked breakfast to be served until 10.30am on Easter Monday rather than 10am."
