    Bahamas Castaway on Double Bay is centrally located on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Bahamas Castaway welcomes you to an incredible tropical destination, a place where you can relax, unwind and get away from it all. You are just steps away from swimming in the turquoise blue water and snorkeling among the beautiful coral gardens filled with tropical marine life. Bahamas Castaway, with 200 feet of pink sand beachfront, sits on 1.5 acres of lush tropical landscaping overlooking the georgous views of Double Bay and its cays. Paradise awaits in this quiet and peaceful private setting.

    Castaway is a spacious tropical island home that has all the amenities one would need. The main living area - kitchen, dining, living room - has an open airy plan with high ceilings, paddle fans and 2 large sliding glass doors that open to the roomy multi-level deck overlooking the many blue shades of the Atlantic. Any cook will feel right at home with all the cooking necessities including a cooking island and a side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water. And of course a blender.

    The home has 2 master bedrooms, 1 king and 1 queen, and a third bedroom that has 2 sets of bunk beds. The den has a queen sofa sleeper. With accommodations for up to 8. So close to the beach you can hear the waves at night!

    Bahamas Castaway features a large wrap-around mulit-level deck that captures the unforgettable ocean views. With plenty of seating and lounge chairs this deck is great for dining, entertaining and outdoor living. If you can pull yourself up off the deck you are but just a few steps away from swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and taking long easy strolls on the pink sand beaches of Double Bay.

    Eleuthera is one the Out Islands of the Bahamas. If you are looking for crowded beaches, large resorts and hotels, casinos and nightclubs, then Eleuthera is not for you. What you will find is peace, quiet, solitude, and the friendliest people around. You come to Eleuthera to breath, relax, escape, live, and play.

Stay at Bahamas Castaway

What an amazing view!! Steps from the beach. I had not anticipated Eleuthera's remoteness....Stores and restaurants are not plentiful. But it is a vacation you will not forget.....just need some preparation and planning. Shop for groceries near North Eleuthera airport before heading south.

Location is beautiful. Literally a “stones throw” from the water. The layout of the house inside is also extremely well configured - great views from multiple places

Nonstop Relaxation

My wife and I stayed at Castaway for 6 days and we loved everything, especially the beach! Extremely private piece of property, great location on the island, and excellent communication from the owner. We're already planning a second visit later this year. Definitely recommend this home for families as there is a large front living room near the kids bedroom (bunk beds) that would give them an area to gather and allow adults to sit in the main living area.

My husband and I enjoyed two wonderful weeks at Castaway. John was great, answered all our questions. We stayed at Castaway a few years ago with our children, it is still just as wonderful. We can’t wait to return. Doug and Jodie

Just gorgeous. Can't say enough good things

We loved our stay at Castaway. It's the ideal location for a true getaway and reset. So many beaches to discover (not to mention the one we woke up to every day) and plenty of things to do if you really don't want to relax seaside. Can't recommend this enough. We will definitely be coming back!

So beautiful and well worth the trip down!

Our family loved using the kayaks to explore and played the foosball table at night! We had many tournaments! John was more than accomadating and we appreciated him so much! We had a lovely time on the island and enjoyed exploring. We traveled into governors Harbour a few times during the week to get fish so thank you for the recommendations! Would love to travel back on another family vacation

Absolutely Amazing!

We had the best time in Eleuthera and during our stay at Bahamas Castaway. Honestly, one of the best beaches on the island. The home was perfect for our needs - we had 4 adults and 2 children and plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen has all you need for cooking and we never ran out of towels! We plan to go back for sure! Thanks Cathy!

Fabulous beachfront property on Double Bay

This was our 7th trip to Eleuthera, and this property far exceeded our expectations. Panaromic beachfront views all around the house, with a view of the Atlantic ocean which was breathtaking. The house itself was extremely spacious, tastefully but comfortably furnished with plenty of space for my husband and I, mother-in-law and 3 children. Also very clean. We loved using the spacious deck out the front and walking down the steps to the wonderful beach of pink sand. Two separate lounge areas meant the kids and grown-ups had plenty of space to relax. The amenities were well up to standard with a fantastic kitchen/diner. The owner and property manager gave clear and detailed instructions for the property and the area. We had some great days out visiting both ends of the island but always felt relaxed coming back home to Bahamas Castaway. Definitely a property I'd recommend.

Amazing view and one of the best beaches on the island.

The view from the deck is spectacular, and the property is located on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Bahamas Castaway is really spacious, and we found it equipped with everything that we needed. The kayaks were great fun, and we had fantastic weather so we were able to use them every day. While we were there we pretty much had the beach to ourselves most days, so it really was idyllic.

Bahamas Castaway

This house exceeded expectations! The views are better in person, it was stunning walking into this home. Well maintained home with excellent layout. Owner is very easy to work with and responsive. House is well stocked with anything and everything you could need from snorkeling and fishing gear, books and games, and well equipped kitchen, we cooked several meals. The view every morning never got old, absolutely breathtaking pink sand beach, VERY private. We felt very at home in this house with our two children, 6 and 3. You can feel the home is loved and well cared for. The view while cooking on outdoor charcoal grill is stunning! The ocean breeze at night while sitting on back deck, cannot be beat, this house is truly a dream spot for a vacation, piece of paradise! Thank you Castaway, we'll be back!!

The Best

My family of 7 loved Bahamas Castaway and Double Bay. We had kids aged 10-22 who found plenty to do for the two weeks at Castaway. The house is beyond beautiful and lacks nothing. Our initial entry to the home was jaw dropping for all. The house was immaculately clean. The home's oceanside is a wall of glass overlooking an amazing deck. The master bedroom and its twin on the opposite side of the house have ocean views. The view from the great room and kitchen/dining areas is the Wild Atlantic. The home has a comfortable game room/reading room. The bunked bedroom was cool. The bunk room comfortably and happily slept the 20, 19, 16, and 10 year olds. I was surprised to find high quality decor, prints, pottery, throw blankets, furniture. Not typical for a rental house. Beds and bedding were also well appointed. The kitchen was well equipped for most any contingency. The frig is large and makes ice ! The home has games and books. The kids kept the chessboard active and held down deck chairs while reading. We chose Eleuthera for the water quality, animal life, and especially for the easy access to good snorkeling reef. Other vacations, we needed a boat to take us snorkeling, but on Eleuthera, great snorkeling is gained from the beach. We utilized the Beach Book to explore a and found it useful, but after every excursion, upon retiring to Bahamas Castaway, I wondered why we left the best house, the best beach, the best reef for the day. We stayed at another house on Double bay the week preceding the two weeks we stayed at Castaway and it must be noted that although the other home was impressive, Castaway blew it away. And although slightly more expensive nightly, Castaway was a better value. Importantly, the caretaker, John, was helpful and available. John charged a car battery, provided a compressor to fix a flat, and kept the trash removed. John built the house and fixes stuff. Great guy. I loved the well-designed stone barbecue overlooking the ocean. To economize, we at out little. Fish came from the dock at Tarpum Bay around three in the afternoon some days. The market in Rock Sound had some good deals as did the market adjacent the liquor store in Governor's harbor. I took 50 lbls of frozen steaks, burger, sausage, and bacon in check through suitcase and likely saved a fortune. Island Farm is nearby and has bread and produce. Highlights were scuba diving with Ocean Fox (twice) and being joined in the bay by a wild dolphin.

ABSOLUTE PARADISE!

Bahamas Castaway is about as perfect as you can get. The house is open, spacious and very well appointed overlooking some of the most gorgeous sand and water we've ever seen. The owners have done everything to anticipate the comfort and needs of their guests. We were thrilled that they have built a new barbecue because we go to Tarpum Bay and buy fresh fish to grill. But it is the beach that is heaven! It is quiet, very few people, serene and beautiful. We sit for hours watching the color of the water change as the sun gets higher. For us it is perfect because it is so secluded. You can read and dig your toes into the powder pink sand or go for a walk and collect shells which I do every morning. Snorkeling is very good right in front of the house and the 2 islands are great if you want to explore. We have been here 4 times. Each time we stay longer and each time it ends up not being long enough.

Lovely house just by the beach on the Atlantic side

Arriving at Eleuthera was a great experience itself - just a small house which welcomed us. the House keeper John had arranged with a car, which was waiting for us outside the small airport. It took us about 1,5 hour to drive to the house which is situated about 15-20 min drive from Governors harbor. You def. need a car to get there. The house was situated up on the top of the beach, so no worries for the waves to hit the house. Beautiful beach with a few houses. The house itself had very comfortable beds, had pretty much everything you needed to cook. The only con was that the wifi wasn't stable, with all the power cuts that's seems to be going on in Eleuthera. Even though they don't last very long. The house provided us with towels, bed linen, snorkel equipment, canoes (even though it was to choppy for us to go out with small children). Ten bay beach is situated on the other side of the highway and was just the best! So many beautiful beaches on the island - breathtaking! I highly recommend this island if you need some peace, and why not stay at Bahamas Castaway at the same time!
