"Excellent value. Old southern charm, but with emphasis on the old— our room was as clean as housekeeping could possibly make it, but the carpet had large stains, shower door can’t stay shut, paint on bathroom ceiling and parts of walls cracked and peeling. Tile missing on bathroom floor. Brilliant location right in historic district because hotel is pretty much the historic anchor (former exclusive millionaires club built at end of 19th century). "The Village Inn & Pub was perfect for our getaway. Located walking distance to great restaurants and the pier. But the best part was the hotel, our room was beautiful, pool area was a delight to sit out in the evenings and enjoy the beautiful plants. The icing on the cake was the pub, great staff and had karaoke the last night there. We will be back."

"Needs TLC. Front desk didn't give us the breakfast vouchers - we had to go back and ask for them. Breakfast buffet doesn't have the best choices. Roach on ceiling one morning. Rust on the bathtub. Need comfort height toilets in bathrooms. Ladies who cleaned the rooms were fantastic!!!! Only a few hangers in the closet. Beds are comfortable and pillow choices are great. Easy access to beach. Pool with hot tub is nice. Lots of easy walking paths. Rooms are large and very spacious."

"The room was large with a separated bedroom and living area/kitchen. It was clean and well equipped. Everything worked except issues with the motorized window curtains. The staff were pleasant and helpful. the breakfast was average. The location was excellent - within walking distance to the beach and a retail shopping area. The island itself is beautiful and very peaceful ."
