"It was short walk from the train station and like 50 minutes from London. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good and the bus to colchester city center is pretty good. The hotel was clean and check out was pretty easy as well."

"Overall this hotel suited our needs as we were visiting Colchester Zoo. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The air conditioner in our room did not cool properly."

Only negative for me was that the pillows were really hard but im sure if i had asked they would have provided a soft one. Would definately stay again if I was visiting Colchester & I dont often like a place enough to want to."

"Stayed here several times before and always really pleased with the quality and attention to detail. Sadly this stay fell way short! For the price paid for room only I would expect more! Poor lighting, no full length mirror and blind that were broken! Would take a lot to make me return!"

"The room was basic and very hot. No fan provided, two extra pillows provided but without covers. In addition, one side of bed broken, two beside lamps not working and hotel surrounding is unkempt. Overall, the hotel seems isolated, outside needs more attention and provide the required amenities!"

"Extremely uncomfortable sleep - tiny double bed for 2 people and there was an old creaky, loud fan and the room was unbearably hot even with the fan on all night and windows open. Give people a bigger bed and buy new modern quiet fans!"
