"Nice clean room. The private balcony had a great view and was really cool in the early morning but it was too hot to use the rest of the day while we were there...temps in the 90's. We love this area and had previously stayed at The Evening Shade a few times and next door at Carters Lodge. We were really sad that one is gone and the other boarded up. I requested a different room after check in because it smelled to me like someone had smoked in the room and then tried to hide it with some kind of freshener. The weather seals around the entry door were completly worn out. you could see light all the way around the door."
