"Very lovely remote cabin in the woods. We were there because of the fall colors and photographing waterfalls. We were about 9 miles to the nearest town, Mellen, WI. And there was a gas station and grocery/hardware/liquor store in Mellen. The place was very clean. We always do our own cooking and the kitchen was fully stocked. Plenty of room for the two of us. "we had a really lovely time on Madeline Island. The house was just what we needed - modest, but with all the necessary amenities to cook a meal, relax and enjoy the water. The access across the road was easy and convenient. The kayaks were awesome! We had an early snag where the property had not been fully cleaned from the previous guests but Alan was on it immediately and offered compensation for the hassle which was much appreciated! Highly recommend!"

"This multi-level house/cabin works well for family and friends to gather on the island. Lots of room inside and outside for potluck dinners and game nights. The basement 2br apartment was especially nice for our son's family with a toddler. The kitchen is well equipped and has excellent appliances. Claire was a great host and responded immediately to all questions. There is excellent storage and lots of refrigerator and freezer space for your island stay, "

"I rated a 3 for the listing as it should have a better description to find the house. It's on a 'two track' through woods with a fire number that is nailed up on a tree with other fire numbers."

"Perfect location and beautiful property! Very close to local amenities but quiet and private. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Check in process and host were excellent. Great stay!"

"The cabin was as described the owners were so friendly and easy check in it was nice having an on site boat launch and a doc we could leave the boat in the water it was a nice little place for a fun family getaway for the weekend. Can’t wait to come back!"

"Absolutely amazing property. Feels very isolated and quiet. The beach was perfect for our son and dog to play all day. The property didn’t look like it had really been cleaned well ( hair in the tub and dog hair wasn’t vacuumed) but we just cleaned it up ourselves no big deal. Definitely not even close to a deal breaker and we will absolutely be staying again!!"

"We had our wedding ceremony and reception on this BEAUTIFUL property. Jacob was so incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to help us find vendors we needed for our wedding. We had around 50 guests but only had 19 stay with us in the cabin. The cabin was very clean and fully stocked with tons of games for us to play. The cabin was so cozy and had plenty of space for everyone. I honestly hated having to leave! We could not have asked for a better VRBO host. "

"We rented this for a family long weekend. There were 6 adults and 4 kids. The lake is a little weedy but the water is clear and the kids loved fishing off of the deck. We used the kayaks provided and enjoyed the lake immensely. We didn't see another boat the whole time we were there. The weather was a little cool so we didn't get to use the beautiful screen porch as much as we hoped. We loved the cabin. "
