Bluegums Retreat, set against a backdrop of native landscaping with countryside views and located a few minutes from the iconic Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa, is ideally positioned for your escape.

Offering a sandstone interior, and Bluestone exterior, with exposed timber and plush carpets, The House was built from an old bridge demolished in Ballarat.

Bluegums Retreat offers an idyllic setting for you and your family or friends. Close to Lavendula, Cricket Willow, and the Hepburn Springs Golf Course, there is something for everyone nearby.

Well-appointed, with one King-split and two Queen bedrooms, an open plan living area and large timber deck with BBQ, Bluegums Retreat has space to tuck yourself away for rest and relaxation. On arrival, you will find a welcoming hamper of local and organic treats to start your stay.

A full kitchen and large dining area offer room for entertaining before you enjoy a country sunset from the deck or veranda. Invite yourself to Bluegums and be spoilt by nature.

Bluegums Retreat is located in the idyllic spa capital of Victoria - Hepburn Springs. The retreat located only a few minutes walk from the recently renovated Hepburn Spa and the famous Hepburn Springs Golf Course is ideally positioned for that total rest and relaxation.



Bluegums Retreat Accommodation

The 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms well-appointed house is a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and is lovely and peaceful with the sun rising and setting in full view of the main outlook from the house.

Fully refitted and refurnished over the last several months, Bluegums Retreat provides a stylish and comfortable environment to unwind and relax.

Lie in bed at night and gaze at the stars in the heavens above through the moon window over the master bed.

The grounds have been recently re-landscaped with water-friendly native planting sympathetic to the landscape. Lookout in the garden for Henry the 10ft Emu and, little Bertie the Kiwi.

This was our third time staying at Bluegum. Unfortunately, this occasion proved very disappointing as there was a substantial water leak into the down stairs area from the hot water service. This had resulted in water damage and a substantial area affected with mould, which included the carpet, walls and furniture having mould build up and damage. It was also apparent that the 2nd floor shower was also leaking into the downstairs area onto cabling and powerpoints behind the television. T h e owner was notified immediately and was unable to provide any solution during our stay or positive outcome. As the downstairs area, which my grandson was meant to be sleeping in was not habitable due to mould on the pull-out sofa and carpet, which was also water damaged.We were very disappointed as this has been a lovely place to stay in the past.

Beautiful stay

We absolutely loved every bit of our stay, the house was amazing, clean and cosy. Geoff is a wonderful host. Loved waking up to kangaroos in the backyard and even in the evening they were still there. Definitely need to revisit again soon, as 2 nights wasnt long enough.

Amazing place to relax and see Daylesford and surrounds

We went as a family of 6 (including grandparents and kids). Really nice house and amazing setting. Kangaroos and kookaburras appear in the backyard on a nightly basis and we spent most nights on the veranda. Very comfortable set up and everything you need. Geoff was great to deal with and super helpful. Would book again no problem.

From the time we booked till we left the house the entire process was exceptionally smooth. Geoff has been very welcoming, friendly and with a lot of tips on the locality. We enjoyed staying in the house and will likely return in future.

Warm and relaxing retreat

Bluegums is a beautiful property! It was the perfect place for our family to catch up and truly unwind. Kids loved exploring the surrounding bush land and keeping an eye on the local kangaroos. After a day of exploring Daylesford and the surrounding region, coming home to a roaring log fire and cooking for loved ones is my idea of bliss. And all the bedrooms are beautifully furnished, and have comfy beds. Morning coffees on the daybed - sublime! Thanks for being such a helpful host Geoff, and we really appreciate the warm arrival. We would love to return one day, and would recommend Bluegums to others.

Beautiful Time

Blue Gums Retreat is in an amazing location that central to both Hepburn Springs and Dayelsford. The property has everything that you could require for a relaxing holiday. The property owner was incredibly helpful, communicating with us regularly during our stay with helpful local knowledge of what to do and where to go. I cant recommend both this area and the Blue Gums Retreat highly enough. Thank you for the memories.

Beautiful Bluegums!

Bluegums Retreat is a beautiful property , tucked away in a wonderful quiet neighbourhood. Lots of roos & a little duckling family kept us entertained. We loved Eddie the Emu & we put the garden light on each night so we could see him. Beds were extremely comfy & the kitchen's cooking facilities were superb! Cannot speak highly enough about everything in this home - the owner 's generous hamper of goodies, champers & chocs plus lit fires & lights on certainly welcomed us on our arrival. Absolutely charming property

5 Star property with all the trimmings.

Felt completely comfortable and relaxed at the gorgeous Bluegums Retreat. Geoff spoilt us with a lovely hamper of local treats and even took care of our NYE trinkets. High end appliances made our stay enjoyable and the location was ideal for our daily adventures and pampering sessions. The kids had a separate chill out/ games room, which gave us parents some well deserved time out. The layout and decor of this stunning home is nothing short of high end. Highly recommend! Charming,well-equipped property with a lovely outlook.

The property was very charming, rooms attractively decorated, and very well-equipped. The generous welcome hamper was very much appreciated. The owner Geoff kept in touch, made helpful suggestions about activities in the local area, and we were impressed he came to the property from Melbourne when there was a problem with the television. He also extended the check-out time. We had a delightful few days there, enjoyed just spending time in the house, and it was lovely to see the kangaroos come near the dam in the evening.

Anniversary Stay

Relaxing weekend at Hepburn Springs in a quality property

Six of us have just returned from a very relaxing and successful "two birthdays" family weekend at Bluegums Retreat. From the moment we arrived, the propery looked and felt peaceful and comfortable. The Welcome Package was appreciated. The landscaping and views are the highlights. In particular, the Bluegums garden and rockeries demonstrate thoughtful planning and attention. The result is a delightful complement to the lovely bluestone building. The ground floor comprises a large modern kitchen, bathroom with shower and toilet, a dining area, a comfortable lounge with large TV (including Netflix) and a lovely balcony/verandah. Downstairs is another lounge with a TV and fusball table (very popular). Heating and cooling are excellent with air conditioning and pot belly fires. Upstairs are three bedrooms. The very large main bedroom has an ensuite, spa and small balcony; the second queen bedroom is a bit tight for space and the third bedroom can be configured to two singles or a queen double. All three rooms are attractively furnished and presented. The only negatives apply to the two smaller bedrooms - a lack of hanging space and a trip down the stairs to the shared bathroom. A highlight for us was the view from the balcony. Each night we enjoyed drinks and nibbles looking across the small dam to a large field, beyond which is a hill with olive trees. None of this actually belongs to Bluestone, but from the balcony it all looks like its your very own property! A memorable moment was about 5.30 pm on our first evening, when six kangaroos appeared. They hopped between the dam and us and stated grazing in the field. They were joined later by another six who came from the olive trees. One had a joey, who emerged from her pouch hopped energetically about as it showed off. The location is 2-3 minutes' drive from the Hepburn Springs Spa, a bit far to walk. Parking is in front, which makes it easy to unload and pack the car. A neighbouring house on the right is close, but not intrusive. The house to the left is quite a distance away. You feel like you've escaped the pressures of the city without sacrificing any of comforts! We enjoyed ourselves very much at Bluestone Cottage and will return.
