This beautiful Outer Banks vacation home is conveniently situated on the soundside of Corolla, NC, Lay by the Sound offers stunning sunsets and just a 3-minute drive to the beach. This well-appointed property has a beautiful gourmet kitchen with 2 full-size refrigerators, 2 ovens. 2 microwaves, 2 sinks, and 2 dishwashers, the perfect setting for large gatherings. It has a sitting area to sit, read, nap or do a little office work. This Outer Banks property is near wonderful attractions, Currituck Beach Lighthouse, and historic Corolla Village. fishing, wild horse excursions, and more.
This property has a private dock for water sports access. Enjoy the saltwater pool and hot tub as well as Monterey Shore community facilities.
All 7 bedrooms are master suites as well as powder rooms on every level. The great room features an 85" flat-screen TV with an exterior USB port to easily connect your own devices. If you're looking for the perfect place to get away and do as much or as little as you desire, this is it.

This is definitely a 5 star vacation home. The house is incredibly well-equipped with top of the line appliances and even furniture. Every bedroom has a bathroom and 10 of us were very comfortable sharing the immense amount of space. The view over the sound was lovely and the private pier was well-used by our group for reading quietly, watching the sunsets, and launching the kayaks. It was just a short bike ride to the beach a little over 1/2 mile away. There was even a plug in for our hybrid car. The pool and hot tub area was clean and comfortable with lots of spaces to just hang out. The management company lost this gem a star - the dryer didn't work which wasn't a great situation for 10 people on a beach vacation. They did tell me the problem required an appliance repair person but then the communication stopped after a couple of emails back and forth. They never did get the dryer fixed during our stay and I stopped trying to email after I got a couple of rather snarky responses. I understand needing to find a more qualified person to do the repair but I do not understand the terrible communication, then lack of communication about how they were trying to resolve the issue. But that is all on the management team. The house itself was absolutely perfect!

Over all great stay

My family of ten, including ages from 10-57, all had a great time here. The upstairs open floor plan kitchen/living room area was a dream. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook with and the massive couch in the living room is wonderful to curl up with a blanket and waste the day away with a movie marathon; not to mention the huge table that fits everyone in the family. The elevator was a big plus with my mother, who is disabled and has a harder time getting around. The pool and the hot tub were a hit with all ages and the pier is a wonderful place to watch the beautiful sunsets. This property really has something for all ages. And the customer service is amazing. We left something and the ladies at resort realty were very helpful and prompt at helping us retrieve our items. The one downside is the spiders. Luckily we are not a family who has arachnophobia cause they would literally slap you in the face as you walk out on any of the balconies; however you are next the the marsh so I’m not sure how much could be done about that. With all of that being said, my family will definitely be staying here the next time we visit the OBX.
