"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. "The staff were lovely and couldn't have been better. Our room had a bathroom across the hall which opened with a key. A little strange and not great for a 3am wee. We ate here and the food was ok."

"Lovely hotel however extremely hot in the room, although there was a fan in the room thus wasn’t powerful enough to cool the room. Breakfast was of good quality however extremely slow with just one member of staff working"
