The space
Hockley Place comprises of 8 spacious bedrooms, that can sleep up to 24 people.

Ground Floor

1 - King size bed in the main area, with a sofa bed. A separate internal twin room, ensuite shower room. -Sleeps 4 - 6

2 - Double room and separate cloakroom next to the bedroom (This room doesn’t have a ensuite) - Sleeps 2

First Floor

3 - King room with separate day bed and pull out trundle, ensuite bathroom, separate dressing room.- Sleeps 2

4 - Twin room, ensuite shower room.- Sleeps 2

5 - Double room, ensuite shower room.- Sleeps 2

6 - King room, with separate day bed and pull out trundle, ensuite bathroom. - Sleeps 2- 4

7 - King room ensuite bathroom. - Sleeps 2

Second Floor

8- Quadruple room with king bed, 2 single bunk beds, ensuite shower room - Sleeps 4


The fully equipped kitchen, along with 4 large reception rooms, some with cosy log burning fires, a utility room, a boot room and 3 WC/cloakrooms, makes Hockley Place the perfect place to host large gatherings - be it family holidays, celebrations, corporate events, or retreats.

Hockley Place was previously run as a spiritual retreat venue and is beautifully decorated to bring in an energy that is deeply nourishing. It's is perfect for those looking to host nurturing peaceful retreats.

The 8-acres grounds are filled with natural beauty and a swimming pool, which is unheated and open between May and October, depending on the weather.

There is ample free parking for in excess of 12 vehicles at the front and rear of the main house.


Large reception rooms can be transformed into practical work, or fun spaces, with sound systems, a large screen and projector for work or play, available on request, .... maybe a cosy indoor or outdoor cinema for movie or karaoke nights.




There is a cottage and mobile home in the grounds of Hockley Place, which is occasionally occupied by 2 helpful ladies, who may, or may not be there during your stay. However this will have no impact on guests, or prevent any access to grounds or pool, which is for the sole use of guests.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire main house, the estates extensive grounds and pool, which is unheated and open between May and October, depending on the weather.

A key safe is available for a flexible self check in, after 3pm.
Early check in may be available , but is not able to be confirmed until 48 hours before the day of arrival.

The seperate cottgae can be rented separately if you are looking for a country get away for a couple, or small family.

The nearby coastline includes Frinton-on-Sea, where there is also a railway station, with Brightlingsea and Point Clear to the south along the River Blackwater.

Manningtree, Dedham, flatford are also very close, and are in the heart of the famous Constable County.

Colchester main line station is within easy reach offering direct services into London.

Country pubs and local shops are close by, with Lifehouse Spa, Clacton Shopping village and Colchester town centre within a short drive.

Chelmsford City, Ipswich and the Suffolk coast are also a short drive away.

Stansted Airport is within easy reach of approximately 45 minutes.
