Site of Churchdown station, 1986. View NE, towards Cheltenham etc.: ex-GW & Midland Joint Gloucester etc. - Cheltenham etc. main line. This important line had been quadrupled for War traffic in 1942, but reverted to double-track in 1967. Churchdown station was closed from 2/11/64. (See also several other scenes, SO8820 : Cheltenham - Paddington express passing Churchdown station etc.).

We stayed in one of the lakeside rooms which had a beautiful view. Room was slightly cold because of this but reception did provide us with an extra heater. The whole experience was one of great things from the booking to arrival to the stay. Extremely comfortable with everything you would need and lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Parking is a bonus in Cheltenham.
