  • Have been driving across the country for over a week now and managed to rest up a bit and visit downtown Chicago. Spent the day looking for this iconic piece and finally found it. The Chicago Theatre was built in 1921 and was originally named the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre. This building has become the unofficial landmark for Chicago representing the rich arts and music culture Chicago is known for. In 1979 the building was added to the list of historic buildings, and later in 1983 was added as an official landmark for the City of Chicago.

It was just like the photos. Clean. Good hosts. Easy to check in/out. The place has a lot of character. We looked up that it was built in 1890. It’s in a quiet convenient neighborhood with a cool little bar down the street. Met a few neighbors who were very nice. Had everything I needed to prepare for Chicago marathon. Slept great. Crushed a PR 2:55. Thanks!!

Great space for families with kids. We felt safe in this area and there is a park close by we loved. You can see the top of the fireworks from navy pier from the king suite room, which was a nice surprise! A/c and heater both work great. Host was easy to communicate with and responsive. We would stay here again!

Our group of 7 had a great stay. Definitely a unique place with a lot space to hang out with a large group. Dart board, board games, and projector were a great plus. Plenty of towels which was appreciated. Some minor cosmetic issues but was a safe and fun place to be in. If you’re not local and are planning to go into the city on the nearby public transit, do some research on the area accordingly. Host was communicative and willing to be of assistance at all times.

The house was in a very nice location, we felt safe. The bad part was the no communication from the host, first we asked about the vehicle available in the listing 3 weeks before our arrival and we didn't get a response until the day before we were to arrive. Second, upon arrival while inspecting the house we found things that needed attention such as dirty appliances (coffee left in pot), cleaning needed in bathrooms, connects (not able to watch), mirrors hanging off the wall. I never received any type of response from the host, except auto responses giving us info about checking out. This was my first time using Vrbo and it was not a great experience and I believe I will just go back to using hotels. Very disappointed.

2nd renter of new property

This property is within 15 mins of many city attractions. That for us was a major plus! Everyone knows city traffic is horrid. Renting this property alleviates this worry. Very spacious, clean and cozy.
