When we first arrived, the unit hadn’t been cleaned yet. It reeked strongly of dog and definitely needed a refresh. I contacted the owners, and while they were apologetic, cleaners weren’t able to come until around 6 PM even though check-in was at 3 PM. We left for dinner and the arcade, and when we returned, the smell was still there—just a little lighter, likely because they vacuumed.The bedding had an odd odor, and one pillow smelled as if it had gotten wet and put away without drying properly, so I couldn’t use it. The whole place could benefit from a deep carpet cleaning and some air freshening. We even lit the partial candle left behind, which helped slightly.There was also no hand soap in the bathroom, which I feel is essential and should be provided. On the positive side, the towels, toilet paper, and paper towels were good quality, and the shower was fantastic. The green paint in the bathroom is gorgeous, and the binder provided in the entryway had helpful info about check-in/out, restaurants, and the L train. However, it mentioned marked trash bins we couldn’t find, and the toaster oven’s numbers were completely worn off, making it hard to use.Overall, our stay wasn’t terrible, but the unit’s cleanliness and small missing essentials definitely need attention to make the experience more comfortable.
