The Chicago Theatre was built in 1921 and was originally named the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre. This building has become the unofficial landmark for Chicago representing the rich arts and music culture Chicago is known for. In 1979 the building was added to the list of historic buildings, and later in 1983 was added as an official landmark for the City of Chicago.

The stay was nice, place was clean, fair price, and great location. The host was quick to respond. The booking and check-in process are unnecessarily difficult- sending instructions a hour before is not sufficient for people traveling from out of town. Please consider sending 12 or 24 hours in advance like other rentals.Very basic amenities. Not recommended for anyone infirm since the building is old and the stairs reflect the age. There is a hand rail inside.

Nice, but could use some work

The apartment is modern and stylish, but needs some touch up paint and working blinds. The bunk bed room had very comfortable and cozy beds. We didn’t use the beds in the front bedroom as they were uncomfortable. Location was fine and close to the L. All in all, not bad for the price, but no extra touches.

My stay

It’s a great location. Everything is nearby I never had to travel outside of 10 minutes to all the places I wanted to try out. Laundry room takes quarters and didn’t work. I wanted to clean clothes before I left. There are stairs no elevator to bring your things in. Also the rooftop can use some covers for the furniture for inclement weather. Host answered all of my questions promptly. Private parking was great also.

Great Group Place to Stay

This place perfectly suited our group of 7 adults meeting up from multiple states. We were able to walk to meals and events for most of the trip because the neighborhood is great! The space itself is spacious and well accommodating. The rooftop deck is a great place to relax and take in the city.

Very Good Stay Downtown

The owner is very good about responding. I messaged outside of work hours a few times and still got prompt responses, and the owner was very proactive with check-in and check-out instructions. The apartment was very spacious and well maintained. We had a group of 8 and we fit comfortably in the apartment, and it was obvious that there was room to accomodate more. There are bus stops and a train stop within a couple of blocks from the apartment so transportations is very convenient, and there are ample food options nearby as well. doubling up.

Perfect location for quick Chicago getaway

We were nervous booking a place in Chicago not knowing the area well but were very happy with the space, location and affordability of this place. The big open area in the center was perfect to gather, while the bedrooms were separated allowing for peace and quiet. Easy walking distance to coffee shops and shopping. The rooftop offers a great view of the skyline especially at night. Very responsive property manager.

Great location, loved the rooftop

We had a fantastic stay here. Our group was two families -- one consisting of a couple and a 7-year-old, the other consisting of a couple and two 7-year-olds. Each family shared a bedroom. The flat provided plenty of space for all of us. It was really nice to have a common area (the living room/dining room/kitchen) -- something that two separate hotel rooms wouldn't have offered. We loved the rooftop access, and we ended up hanging out up there quite a bit. And having two free parking spots was fantastic. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the Water Tower area of Michigan Avenue. Lots of restaurants close. Plus, there's a park with wide-open lawns and a great playground just a five-minute walk away.
