The Villa worked well for our multi-generational family group of 12. Villa was clean, and housekeeping every few days was helpful. Given the heat wave this summer, the air conditioning upstairs was important, and the pool provided nice relief. Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cookware. Bathrooms are all modern. The building and property have lots of character. Grocery and train in Certaldo within 20 minutes. We had a great time dining at the Boghetina di Wilma that we could walk to. The property manager, Vilma, was extremely responsive -- fast and helpful. She showed real hospitality and customer care.

We had a wonderful stay att the villa. It would have been even better if the weather had been warm and we could have used the pool. We could instead use the big, wall to wall, fireplace which created a fantastic warm feeling. Vilma and her husband took good care of us and recommended places when I asked her of things to do nearby and her husband arranged the fireplace and fixed the firewood, among other things. It was also nice with the pool table, which we used frequently. A little minus was that the oven in the stove did not work and the standalone oven did not do the job. It is a fantastic house with a lot of history.

Villa Orchidea

This is a Beautiful property, with plenty of room for our family of 10 travelers. Centrally located in the hills above Certaldo, in the Chianti Region. Easy day trips to Florence, Siena, Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terra by car or train. Great location for just relaxing as well. The management team was very accessible and kept us updated from the time the reservation made, to the time of checkout. Near by are local restaurants, and a well stocked grocery store. I would recommend this location and Villa to anyone.

Meget smukt sted og smuk gammel ejendom med fantastisk pool. Vores ophold 27- 5 okt var dog præget af manglende varme i ejendommen, som ellers fungerede perfekt. Keyholder Denise var meget hjælpsom under hele opholdet.Mindre ting var ikke i orden, som ovnen der ikke fungerede, manglende vandtryk i køkkenet, kloarklugt i 2 værelser.Vi kan på det varmeste anbefale stedet, utrolige omgivelser, fantastisk udsigt, for en stor familie, vi var 14 i alle aldre.MvhHenrik Hvidt

belle demeure Toscane très rustique

La villa a beaucoup de cachet. elle est très grande ( 6 chambres , 6 sdb et 5 salons!) le cadre est tres agreable. Mais il y a un manque d’entretien, problème de siphon et d’odeur dans 2 sdb. Plantes en pot assoiffées.Déjections de souris dans les placards de la cuisine, dans la vaisselle.

perfect for a group

We absolutely loved our stay for a group of friends for a big birthday. the bedrooms were large and all perfect except the weird one with the twin beds. we added an amenity by adding a catered chef dinner one evening and it was 100% worth it - the meal and staff were amazing. great communication during check in and check out via whatsapp . wifi worked great. only issue was transportation - this home is not near the train station and there are not cars available in Certaldo . If you stay here your group will need vehicles.

Ideal for large group but needs attention and updating.

Generally okay but a bit of a hotch potch of unmatched crockery and glasses. No shaker to make cocktails, airconditioning units not working, bulbs missing or not working and often no hot water. Lots of trip hazards. Housekeeper very pleasant but we were a bit disappointed.

The property is so beautiful and we loved the pool and the outdoor eating areas. The rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms are all updated and lovely. My only negative comment is that given how expensive the house is we were expecting to have soaps, hand soaps, toilet paper, shower gels, etc. I also suggest ensuring your guests have cleaning supplies in the kitchen and more than 2 dish towels. Additionally, laundry detergent for the laundry room. These seem like pretty basic things. We rent homes and villas when we travel and are accustomed to having these be well stocked wherever we rent. This was the only disappointment.

Tuscan Holiday

The villa was as historic as it gets. The views from the backyard were amazing. There was plenty of room for our family holiday of 8 adults. Everyone had their own space and bathrooms were plentiful. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with plates, pots, pans and glassware for all. Communication with the manager of the property was A plus and they even helped us coordinate an amazing birthday dinner on property. On the downside, the property needs a lot of deferred maintenance. We were there during rain storms and three of the rooms and bathrooms had large leaks which made everything in those rooms wet. Also, the humidity was off the charts which did not allow us to wash and dry clothes because nothing can dry in those damp environments. Additionally, it seems the house must have been left open because there were bugs all over inside when we arrived (and we’re from Florida so we know bugs). Also, the weather did not provide much opportunity to enjoy the outdoor spaces and the mosquitoes were off the charts bad. The location was also quite challenging to find so following the written instructions was essential with a minimum 25 - 30 minute drive to most locations of interest. All in all, we had a lovely time together and enjoyed Tuscany as a whole. There is so much beauty.

Great place to be. Very spacious. Beautiful outdoor sitting and dining area. We would recommend to install an outside heater at the sitting area. Excellent. location. Well equiped kitchen.Bedroom Quality Good and spacious.Surrounding is beautiful. Certaldo has a good supermarket (Coop). Sienna, San Gimignano and Firenze are within a 45 minutes drive.Beautiful (large) pool. A fantastic place for the large family or group of friends to celebrate life in beautiful Toscana. We were 7 couples and enjoyed the privacy of own room and bathroom in combination with the in and out door facilities for us all. A place to recommend for sure. Remember to book the nearby restaurant (walking distance) for a quality meal at very resonable price. And dont forget to try a wine/olive oil tasting and a walk in the winyards. Many options around the area

La villa correspond à la description. Elle est dans un bel environnement, avec une superbe vue. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Les salles de bain également. L'équipement de la cuisine est réduit et les ustensiles de cuisine un peu usés et parfois sales. La machine à café est beaucoup trop petite pour une si grande maison pouvant loger 15 personnes. Il manque également des ustensiles pour le grill, y compris pour le nettoyer. Globalement une belle maison dans un bel environnement, à recommander pour loger de nombreuses personnes avec un espace suffisant.

Lovely setting amidst olive groves, peaceful with beautiful views of the Tuscan hills. There were 13 of us and we had more than enough space for privacy when desired, and many indoor and outdoor gathering places to choose from when we wanted to be together. Full kitchen, nicely appointed bedrooms and sparkling clean remodeled bathrooms. Excellent restaurant up the street that we frequented twice, Paese di Campenelli, and easy access to Certaldo for groceries. Don't miss Certaldo Alto charming hill town and home to 14th century writer Boccaccio. Highly recommend for families and groups.

Wunderschönes, großzügiges Haus und Anlage mit neuen Bädern. Genügend und schönes Geschirr vorhanden. Schönes Aussicht Schöner Pool Genügend Liegestühle und Sitzgelegenheiten. Verbesserungsvorschläge: An vielen Fenstern sind keine Fliegengitter. Nachdem es viele Fliegen sollten alle Fenster mit Fliegengittern bestückt sein. Wir konnten wir trotz vorsichtigen öffnen der Fenster es nicht unterbinden, dass wir Stechfliegen im Zimmer hatten. Dadurch konnten wir Nachts schlecht schlafen und waren morgens immer zerstochen. Dies führte auch dazu, dass wir in der Küche sogar mit Hornissen zu kämpfen hatten. Generell gab es ein Hornissenproblem. Deshalb konnten wir auch die Außenküche/-Platz so gut wie nicht nutzen können. Kaffeemaschine viel zu klein für 15 Personen. Keine Mehrfahsteckdosen in der Küche für Kaffeemaschine, Toaster, Mixer etc. Müllbehälter zu klein für 15 Personen Müllabfuhrbeschreibung etwas ungenau - bin erst nach mehrfachem Nachfragen und beobachten hinter den Ablauf gekommen.

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in Villa Orchidea verbracht und dort mit Großfamilie einen Geburtstag gefeiert. Für eine Gruppe von 14 Personen von 6 - 60 Jahren waren die großzügigen Räume und eigenen Bäder perfekt! Die Lage ist toll, absolut ruhig, inmitten der Natur, Olivenhaine, der Blick über den Pool in die toskanischen Hügel ein Traum. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt für eine große Gruppe, wir haben es genossen dort oft für alle zu kochen, auch draußen auf dem neuen Gasgrill in der Sommerküche. Der Pool hat eine praktische Flachzone für die Kleinen. Idealer Ort für Ausflüge nach Sienna, Firenze, Volterra, San Gimignano, aber auch Certaldo alto ist einen Besuch wert. Gekrönt haben wir die Feier mit einer Kutschfahrt durch die Chianti Hügel mit Lucca I Cocchieri di Chianti. Traumhaft! Villa und Umgebung absolut empfehlenswert! Das einzige, das wir vermissten, war ein Wasserkocher, da für 14 Leute Tee und Kaffee auf dem Gasherd zuzubereiten etwas lange dauerte und Kaffeemaschine und Espressokanne schon bessere Tage gesehen haben. Sonst alles top! Mille grazie!
