We have just completed huge renovations on our bach & can’t wait to share the upgrades with our guests!
The smell and touch of the Pacific ocean is right on your door step. This property is all about location and Views. Absoultely unmatched access to the Pacific and your gateway to unlimited recreation.

Castlepoint is renowned for its landscape and unmatched diving. Crayfish cove offers you a holiday with the location you deserve. The views are 1 in a million.The famous castlepoint lighthouse is right outside and awaiting your arrival. Enjoy the famous fishing from the reef as well as the safe boat launching on offer.

Swimming , surfing and surfcasting are right on your door step along with guided trophy deer stalking if you wish.. Castlepoint offers extensive recreation for all families from Fishing and diving / Surfing / Great walks / Golf and tennis / hunting and the all important family time on the beach. Low tide offers many a hours searching rock pools.

This part of the east coast offers unlimited recreation for the angler and diver with many a fishing competitions held throughout the year.

Make this not just a holiday but an adventure. With a property nestled over the ocean your imagination is the only limit.

Crayfish cove is 1 of the original Bach s from the early settlement. With very rear opportunities to holiday right on the water in New Zealand please let us share our dream with you.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition this bach is BYO linen (towels/sheets/tea towels). We do have access to a Full Linen Service if you would prefer - we can organise this for you. Guests are expected Leave the house as tidy as you found it, do the dishes before you leave, take rubbish and recycling away with you etc

A weekend away

Recently renovated kitchen, living room, bathroom. Very cozy (we had a storm the first night). Wood burner was great, plenty of wood tho' we were short on paper to light it with. Great being so close to the water. Rest of weekend was great weather, Such a great spot. Lighthouse very visible in the full moon light!.A nice mix of fresh & new and 'original' bach - the bedrooms. They were smallish but fine for what we needed. Great that the bach was not over decorated with kiwiana. Lots of comfortable seating & a big table. We would reccommend it.

Birthday weekend away with friends

The location, and bach itself was perfect! It was clean, sunny, warm at night and so handy being just across the road from the beach. However what let this stay down was the extra costs for linen and people staying…There was only 4 of us staying in this 3 bedroom bach and 2 of us only stayed 1 out of the 2 nights and we were charged an extra 170 for linen plus 2 guests. I understand there is usually a little cost for extras like a cleaning fee (which we had already prepaid) but this was unnecessary. I have never had to pay that much extra at any other home stay before. They have done such an amazing job with the place but this left us all a little disappointed.

Lovely clean, comfortable and well equipped bach with amazing views of the lighthouse and the boats coming and going off the beach. Really good hosts who are super helpful. You will not be disappointed! We will definitely be back :)

Family getaway

Great place to stay. We liked the old interior/but the upgrade was a pleasant surprise. Good for children central to all aspects of what Castlepoint has on offer. Enjoyed our stay.

Great little bach

Lovely bach, one delux new bedroom, bed and toilet, the bunk room is sort of internal, with only a high window that opens into that back bedroom, but for us it was perfect. Very very comfortable couch, lounge views were amazing, kitchen had evrything we needed.

Bright, light and beautiful

This address has always had exceptional beach frontage, which means that even if the weather is rough you can still watch the sea all day. It’s just steps away!The addition of French doors in the main room, freshly painted surfaces, new furnishings and units in kitchen and bathroom, have elevated the house even more. We so loved the brightness of it, that reflected the light from sea and sky.Exceptional. Book it when you can!

Great little bach

We had a great stay, the bach is in a fabulous location and nice place to chill out. However, it needed a good clean - the dishes were grimy, cupboards sticky and there was dust everywhere. I think we left it cleaner than when we arrived!

Friends Weekend

Great location on the beach. Clean & tidy bach. Big lounge with plenty of seating. Lovely to be able to hear the surf. Lovely meal at Castlepoint pub with courtesy pickup and dropoff, great service.

The sea at your doorstep

We love this place. Bright, light, and sunny, the best thing about it is the sea at the doorstep. You hear the waves at night, see them first thing when you get up, and then walk just a few steps over the road to plunge into them for a swim. The bach is warm too with a really efficient log burner so we were cosy at night. This is our go to place for a few days of real refreshment and pleasure. The sea, the rocks, the hills for climbing, spectacular views from so many angles. It’s a winner.
