Socks 'n' Sandals says it all for this charming little cottage, offering sea views enjoyable any time of the year. This rare gem allows you to step back in time and enjoy the simple things in life. Located in a place of unspoilt beauty with rugged landscapes and untouched flora and fauna.
This property is located on the corner of Gold Coast and Riverview Drive and fronts a reserve bordering the river inlet to the ocean. Within minutes you're on the beach.
This home is surprisingly spacious and features a downstairs bunkroom with separate outdoor access and internal stairs up to the open plan living, master bedroom, and separate toilet/bathroom. Open plan, well-stocked kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine and dining with reverse cycle air conditioning.
bbq facilities are available and an outdoor setting from which there are great sea and rural views.
Carrickalinga township is squeezed between the hillside and the pristine dunes. The beach is strikingly clean with clear water and fine white sands, an ideal beach for families. Take a stroll along this magnificent beach, or just sit back and relax.

When out and about enjoy local activities such as golf, fishing, horse riding, and nature walks. There are numerous cafes, restaurants, and several local wineries close by.

Beautiful location but had a few let downs.

Had a great time away with my partner and 1 year old son. The location is beautiful with an ocean/river view. Property was abit hard to find hidden away with a small drive way. Few let downs with the TV cracked in the corner could watch the tv but had black through the picture, shower door was broken and there were dirty dishes found in the oven (considering there's a cleaning fee would expect to rock up to a clean property when arrive). The stairs are very steep and small with no light for nighttime to watch where your going. I wouldn't suggest staying here if you have young ones because of the stairs inside and outside the property.

Beautiful location, ordinary accommodation

This property is all about its riverfront location, which makes for an excellent, relaxing stay. The enclosure for pets is great too. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the condition of the shack and its contents (shower door is broken, TV picture is distorted, BBQ is not working properly, cleanliness is generally poor, lots of empty CD cases that should just be thrown away rather than disappointing guests). For the amount of money charged you don't even get linen included, so all in all a bit disappointing... The kitchen is good though.

Hidden Gem

What a view! Superb location only a couple of minutes walk to the beach with a beautiful view to the ocean and gorgeous sunsets. Very well equipped kitchen, the owners have thought of everything. Bed is comfy, A/C very quiet and efficient and overall it is very cosy and comfortable. Always on the hunt for pet friendly places and this may now be our favourite place in Carrickalinga! Thank you to Sandy the owner for the chocolates and wine she left after we were unable to use the downstairs bedroom due to water damage. We definitely hope to be back!

More honesty

Stayed Dec 29 to Jan 3 and enjoyed the view from the front lounge and proximity to beach. The rooms were as depicted in the photos on site. However.. None of the photos showed the internal or external stairs. There was a reason for that. They are beyond being inconvenient.. The internal stairs would not be compliant with any known code in terms of steepness, narrowness and absence of light. The external stairs have no handrail, are steep and have a very high riser. This causes issues in moving around the property especially at night. A bit more honesty for this price would be the decent approach.
