The Space:

Step straight from your door onto Kommetjie’s iconic Long Beach: a world-famous surf spot and one of the most breathtaking stretches of coastline in Cape Town (especially at sunset!). This spacious, light-filled pet-friendly home has been thoughtfully prepared for families, friends, and ocean lovers who want a beach house but without the fuss and without compromising on homely comforts.



Four bedrooms offer plenty of space for everyone:

- Primary bedroom: Queen bed with uninterrupted ocean views and ensuite bathroom

- Second bedroom: King bed away from the main living areas

- Third bedroom: Two singles and a bunk bed - a playful space for kids to make their own.

- Fourth bedroom: bunk beds and En-suite, perfect for teens wanting their own corner.



All the bathrooms have undergone extensive renovations. We now have 4 bathrooms:

- ensuite to primary bedroom with shower and toilet

- a bathroom with shower and bath

- another separate toilet / shower bathroom

- ensuite to the room with the bunk bed with shower & toilet



The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge are designed for laid-back living, with an indoor fireplace for cooler nights. Large sliding doors lead to the patio where you can enjoy a braai while watching the waves roll in. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine and dishwasher and the garage has space for surfboards so your gear stays secure and ready for the next session.



Whether it’s morning beach walks with the dogs, teaching the kids to surf, or simply enjoying the salty breeze from the patio, this is a place to slow down and savour life by the ocean.



We know admin is nobody's favourite thing, so we have kept it as simple as possible. Before arrival you will receive a link to our Guest App where you will be asked to upload your ID or passport, verify with a quick selfie, and sign our terms and conditions. It takes just a few minutes and all information is stored in compliance with POPIA. Thank you for your understanding, we appreciate it!

To keep things cozy and cost-effective, we’ll only open the number of bedrooms needed based on your group size. If you're booking for two, you'll have access to one main bedroom; additional rooms will be unlocked as your group size increases (up to 10 guests in total).



The Neighborhood:

Kommetjie, a charming coastal village in Cape Town's South Peninsula, is known for its relaxed beach vibe and stunning natural beauty. With its iconic long beach and scenic mountain views, it's a favorite for surfers, nature lovers, and anyone looking to unwind. Dining options range from laid-back to eclectic, with local favorites like The Green Room, and Fisherman's Kommetjie, a casual spot with outdoor seating that's popular for fish and chips and pub-style meals.



Getting Around:

We would suggest getting a rental car for your stay.



Other Things to Note:

Public space: the rocks in front of the property on the ocean edge is public land so expect some passer by's. There is also a walk thoroughfare on the left side of the house through the tree's often used by surfers.



Pets: although the property is pet friendly, the back garden is not enclosed. Pet's will be able to run onto the rocks so it's important that accompanying pets are well trained in recall. Please bring own pet beds - MAX 2 small - medium dogs. There are throws for the couches (although they are not encouraged to be on our furniture please) and spare towels available for your pets however please do bring along their beds, toys, bowls etc.



Sandhoppers: At certain times of the year, usually in late winter and spring, all the properties along the beach front in Kommetjie are frequented by sand hoppers. They are little creatures that feed on the kelp washed up on the beach, keeping the beach clean. As such, they are an important part of the ecology. They are completely harmless, but can be something that surprises you if you are not aware. Should it get out of hand, please communicate with Laurette.



Kelp flies: as with the hoppers, the small black kelp flies are also part of the eco-system that is living on the ocean edge. They usually come up around sunset on warmer days. Please keep the bedroom windows and the sliding door closed. We are in the process of getting a fly screen up so you can at least have the fresh ocean breeze on hot summer days without the flies.

Wi-fi: there is wifi in the common area's and we have tried to boost the internet down on the lower bedroom levels however the design of the house does prohibit the signal. This would be a great time to disconnect and get into that book you have been meaning to read or reconnect with loved ones.



Interaction with Guests:

I am available to guests during their stay via phone or Airbnb. I do live about 20 minutes away in case of emergencies.
