Amazing Island Villa

We had a group of 10 stay in Amistad Villa and I cannot say enough good things about the property, the host, and our overall experience. We rented both sides of the Villa and there was plenty of room for our group! The Villa was exactly as described in the listing, it was extremely clean and it had all of the amenities we could need. The check in process was so smooth and the location is perfect when arriving from the ferry - an easy walk! The host was excellent at communication and any request was answered almost immediately. This property is truly breathtaking inside & out and the view of the ocean from the infinity pool is beyond incredible. There is also easy direct access from the house to the sidewalk path that runs along the ocean which you can use to take a quick walk to the beach and Hidalgo street with restaurants and spots to stop along the way. We are already planning our next trip to stay at Amistad Villa and cannot wait!! Many thanks to the host, housekeepers and property managers on the island for making this an unforgettable experience!

Wonderful Setup for Large Families

We stayed at Villa Amistad from 12/27/2023 through 1/1/2024 with 10 adults and 2 toddlers. The setup with the 3 bedrooms on one side and 4 on the other was ideal for our group. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom as well. The location was perfect backing up right to the elevated walkway to town directly on the coast. The view of the water from 3 of the bedrooms is spectacular. We made good use of the pool and the rooftop deck as well. Omar gave a great introduction to us and Stacey responded almost immediately to any questions. Our daughter and son-in-law had been to Isla several times and many of Gordon's recommendations for restaurants to try matched up with their favorites, including Varadero, North Garden and Lola Valentino. Other favorites were Samura with the show table and Za Za's beach club.

July 2023 Family Trip

Our stay was amazing. The house is fabulous - very comfortable, spacious, and in a great location. The pool was a great escape from the heat and the proximity to the breaking waves is indescribable. Any minor issues with the house were quickly taken care of by the staff. We rented both sides of the house due to the size of our party and did not regret it. All of the recommendations provided by Gordon for shuttle, ferry and nearby restaurants were spot on. Views from the kitchen, living room, master bedrooms and shower are gorgeous. This house is paradise. Didn’t want to leave and will be returning. Thanks Gordon, Stacy and Omar

An amazing place!

I rented this property for our family Thanksgiving. It was really close to everything. It is maintained very well, super clean. The bedrooms are really nice sizes. It is well stocked, if you choose to eat in. The pool is beautiful. The owner is very accessible and helped us with everything from taxis to the ferry to restaurants. You have access to the boardwalk that goes right along the ocean. You are right on the ocean and can listen to the waves. This is the best property I’ve ever stayed in.

Comfortable and great location.

Nice weekend getaway. Very convenient location within walking distance to everything. Hot water did not work for most of the trip and AC’s seem inadequate for summer heat. Overall, we would recommend it.

Great First Stay In Isla

All aspects of staying at Villa Amistad were great. Check in /check out was cake. Hosts were awesome. Location was perfect. All the amenities you need. It felt very community/family oriented. Sunrise/Caribbean views were unbeatable. Rooftop 360 views were top notch. We could literally see our palapas from almost anywhere! This is the place to stay.

Family Christmas Vacation

We loved Villa Amistad. The location was perfect, easy walk to shops and restaurants, and the view was spectacular. Easy communication with the property manager who was very kind and resolved any issues immediately. The villas have everything you need including beach towels!! With a family of 13 we had both sides and had plenty of room. Beautiful property. Would definitely stay there again.

Great ocean view and pool

We rented both units because there were 12 of us including 5 kids. We add everything we needed. Walkable into town but we had golf carts we could park across the street. They street was busy but we spent our time in back of houses. which opened itself up to pool and ocean. We accessed each unit that way .

Beautiful Family Vacation

We truly enjoyed Villa Amistad. The location on the malecon was perfect. It was close to the restaurants and shops and easily walkable. When we did want to venture further we found the taxis a good option. The house was the perfect size for our extended family of 13. The swimming pool was the favorite of our grandkids. The house has been well maintained and laid out well. The rooftop deck was a great evening spot. We would recommend this house The only negatives were no grill available (our family likes to grill)and the water quality of the pool deteriorated as the week went on. Overall a great house.

Beautiful home

We had a wonderful week at Villa Amistad. We rented the entire home and had more than enough room for our group of 10 adults and 2 children. Stacy, the property manager, greeted us when we arrived and helped us get settled. She was available to us all week when we had questions. The owner, Gordon, was also so helpful and available for questions as well via phone and email. The house is in walking distance of amazing restaurants, shopping, and Playa Norte. We rented golf carts to travel around the island, make trips to the store, and take tired children home from the beach. We didn’t cook, we opted to enjoy the wonderful restaurants in the island. But the kitchen is well-stocked if one wanted to make their own meals. The pool and the back yard are amazing, there were some floats and plenty of beach towels available. We were all so sad to leave. We will definitely return to Vila Amistad!

A piece of paradise

This property is owned and hosted by wonderful people. The villa is equipped with just about everything you need from sunscreen to leftover alcohol! Whenever there was a problem (minor) their manager, Stacy was prompt and extremely helpful. The only downside was the smell from the downstairs bathroom on both sides. Stacy said they were working on water lines down the road so it wasn’t anything anyone could help. Either way, we had the most amazing time. Will stay again!

The Good and Not So Good

The good: The house is in a great location, walking distance to/from the ferry and to downtown restaurants and shops. House manager Stacy met us on time and showed us everything we needed to know. She was also very responsive to some issues we had. The house had great WiFi and satellite as advertised and the house and pool were as advertised and enjoyed. Housekeeping was very good. . Very nice sunrise!! The not so good: we had several issues with the water in the house going off. One daughter-in-law was in the shower fully soaped up when the water went off. Others tried to shower late at night and found no water. A few times the water went off but came back on by itself after several minutes. Stacy and Willy were prompt in taking care of this, but didn’t seem like this should happen in a “luxury” home. It was quite frustrating. There were also some minor things such as no coffee pot in the second full kitchen (Stacy brought us one after we brought it to her attention). No dish towels in one kitchen so we shared with the other side. The grass and plants in the yard need attention. Again these are minor issues, but expected better.

Family Vacation in Paradise

My husband and I took our grown children and their spouses. We had a great time. The house is beautiful, clean, and has amazing views of the ocean! The house is stocked with everything you need and has maid service. We really enjoyed the island and all it has to offer! I recommend this villa to anyone that has a large group. We will definitely rent Villa Amistad again.

Perfect vacation rental for a family or group!

This is a fabulous property. There is a four bedroom and a three bedroom unit, we rented both for a combined seven bedroom house. The house is in excellent condition, with a roof deck, terrace, decks and an inground swimming pool. Kitchens are well equipped, and have gas ranges and ovens. Linens and towels are provided, as are daily cleaning services. The location was perfect for us. We could walk downtown, and had parking for golf cart rentals. The owners were lovely to deal with, and have a very efficient on island property manager, in case there is a problem with the house. Don't underestimate the value of the pool. The beaches are walking distance, and lovely, but coming home for a swim in the pool, overlooking the ocean, was one of our favorite activities. Beds are comfortable, the dining room table seats 8 comfortably, and the circular couch has spectacular views of the ocean. Don't hesitate to rent this villa, it is well worth it!

Perfect family vacation

We choose Villa Amistad for our family vacation and are we ever glad we did. Grandparents, parents and children traveling together, and this was the perfect spot. The property is gorgeous and has plenty of space to gather, and enjoy being together, yet at the same time it is spacious enough to have some privacy as well. It has everything you could ever need, a close walk (less than 10 min) to the main beach and the center of town, but far enough that you do not have to deal with the busyness/loudness of being right downtown. The owners are very friendly and the property manger was prompt to answer any questions that we had. We felt very safe on the island even when walking back later at night. We would not hesitate to recommend this as the perfect vacation spot!

Fantastic

Villa Amistad had everything we needed for an excellent vacation. I have trouble settling in on vacation in hotels, and it often takes half of the trip to feel relaxed. Stacy was there to welcome us and answer all of our questions. She also responded within seconds to any little hiccups. We all felt right at home for our entire stay. The location is perfect for going to the beach, going out and just enjoying the roof top or pool together. I've been going to Isla for about 9 years and staying in hotels. We really enjoyed being in a house and having a kitchen and pool. Another great thing about the house were the coolers and camp chairs to take for days at the beach. I highly recommend Villa Amistad and will definitely be staying there again.

Beautiful vacation home in paradise.

We rented both sides of Villa Amistad for a girls' trip in March. Plenty of room for 11 of us. The view and proximity to the ocean is amazing and the small infinity pool and landscaped backyard can't be beat. Location close to town is perfect with many things withing a short walking distance. We also enjoyed the access to the malecon for morning walks. The owners and Stacy, the manager, were very responsive to emails and great to deal with. Stacy pre-stocked our groceries for a small fee which saved us a lot of shopping time. The Villas are exactly as described and as shown in photos. You won't be disappointed with Villa Amistad!
