Welcome to Carinya, an Aboriginal word meaning `happy, peaceful home,` and we invite you to experience exactly that during your stay.
Carinya has been purpose-built for holiday living, offering a unique split-pavilion design with mountain views and a private pool set within a quasi-outdoor area. Nestled in a sought-after location, it’s only a five-minute stroll to the Palm Cove beach and esplanade via a scenic tropical boardwalk, making it the perfect destination for your getaway.
The home features a spacious kitchen, air-conditioning throughout, and comfortable bedrooms, ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The pavilion-style design splits the house into two interconnected buildings, linked by an undercover outdoor living area that serves as the central hub.
Here, you’ll find a refreshing plunge pool, a dining table, and a gas BBQ, all surrounded by lush gardens. Large bi-fold doors seamlessly connect this outdoor haven to the indoor spaces, which include a modern kitchen and a living room with a smart TV and leather couch. An additional cosy seating area adjoins the patio for moments of quiet relaxation.
Upstairs in the main pavilion, the master bedroom boasts a king-sized bed, ensuite, walk-in robe, and a private balcony with stunning mountain views. The second pavilion offers a separate living or study area, two additional bedrooms—one with a queen bed and the other with two singles that can be converted into a king upon request—and a bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub.
Guests have exclusive access to the entire house, including the garage and private pool. Just a five-minute walk away, a local health club features a 25m lap pool, gym, and sauna, with casual visits starting at $15.
Palm Cove itself is a charming beachside village about 30 minutes north of Cairns. Its esplanade is lined with ancient melaleuca trees, creating a serene environment where you can ditch the shoes, opt for a bike over a car, and savor fresh seafood for a sunset barbecue on the beach. Adventurous guests can hire a kayak to explore nearby waters, take a tour to Double Island, or try their luck fishing off the jetty, known for Spanish mackerel, cod, whiting, and more.
Please note, this home features a split-pavilion layout designed to create a sense of privacy, space, and natural flow between indoor and outdoor living areas. The configuration can be ideal for families with older children or groups of friends seeking comfort and independence during their stay. However, it may not be suitable for families with very young children due to the distance between the main pavilion and the rear bedrooms.

Check-out is before 10:00 AM. Unauthorised late check outs may incur a fee. Please follow the check out instructions sent to you and make sure you are familiar with where to leave your keys.
Guests may be charged for additional housekeeping if the property requires extra cleaning time.
Guests will be charged for replacing lost keys or fobs as well as a call out fee, if required.
Any smoking inside the property will result in charges to have the property professionally deodorised and furniture and carpets steam cleaned.
Cancellation Policy: Our cancellation policy is firm. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover your trip in case of emergencies, illness, extreme weather, etc. Any refund requests outside of our cancellation policy will be declined. We are happy to provide documentation to your travel insurance company to help expedite your claim.

3 night stay at Carinya
We were able to relax and enjoy the Cairns/Palm Cove/Port Douglas area with ease while staying at the Carinya Villa and the name was very appropriate. Since we wanted a central location for our Queensland getaway it was perfect. The house was clean, organized, well maintained and supplied. Had a great time with the outdoor space.

Comfortable holiday house 2 mins walk to beach
Clean and comfortable property- well suited to travelling with teens as there is a separate pavilion connected to the main house. No garden but a nice semi covered area with plunge pool, and good location (a short stroll to the beach).

Fantastic for long or short stay
We had a wonderful time here. My parents stayed upstairs in the main house and my husband and I stayed with our infant toddler in the granny flat, which adjoins to the main house and really feels part of it, rather than out the back, so you have privacy but also can use the common areas together easily. The location is incredible - a short boardwalk stroll to the main stretch of cafes, shops and kids playground. Save for the stairs the house is pretty toddler proof.
The listing could be massively improved with a few inexpensive tweaks - better small appliances like a new toaster and a milk frother to go with the nespresso machine. A new bin, some new pegs for the clothesline etc. Small things that make a huge difference especially if you're staying for longer than a few days. I also think a housekeeper coming to change sheets once over the course of our 2.5 week stay would have been appropriate given the price of the stay.
Otherwise, seamless check in / check out, great property and incredible location. We will be back :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful, modern house with fantastic outdoor area/pool. The excellent communication and some thoughtful homely additions made it the perfect escape for our family holiday in FNQ. The separation between the main living/master and the additional two bedrooms was fantastic for our teens.
