Check in was rushed , wasn’t explained very well where our room was located , spent 15 minutes looking for it.
Room was outdated for price . Bed was too soft did speak to the duty manager as I have a bad back, house keeping came to room with a white looking doona that had yellow stains over it and was told that was a mattress topper , house keeping were shocked at condition of it as she pulled out of a black garbage bag, then maintence came to our room with a big square piece of wooden board , stripped the bed sheet off , place wood on top of mattress and put sheet on top . That was so hard my partner took it off and went and saw duty manager he said best he could do as all mattresses are the same , he said no one had ever complained about the matresses been soft before .
Dinner valentines night waited 90 minutes for food , food was below average , looked at 13 dirty tables during our visit , staff member was rude, when paying our bill the lady asked if “ I had calm down and wanted to talk . My reply was no and headed to to the duty manager.
I did also make a written complaint to the Abbey and they replied but didn’t really care , for the money we paid for a 2 night stay , very disappointing. Would not go back .
