"There is nothing you could complain about. The beds are lovely, nice pillows and very cloud like duvet. Perfectly clean and comfortable room. Our dogs were welcome in their pet-friendly rooms and even given a sausage breakfast to their delight. We’ve eaten here many times. The roast is one of the best I’ve ever had. Always the same high standard. This is the vacation “local” pub that you wish your village had. And so reasonably priced for the service and quality. "

"All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This is the third time we have stayed at the , " Duke of York". The rooms are always clean and well supplied and wonderfully quirky. The food is exquisite, good suppliers and a talented chef make any meal you order an absolute delight. The choice of beers and ciders definately hit the spot and are excellently kept. We will, without question, be looking to return for more stays regardless of the season because any time of year is great here."

"Lovely clean room, friendly staff, and great powerful shower! Our only complaint was the room was so hot and we couldn't turn the thermostat down! Also breakfast not served until 8.30am on a Sunday and we had to check out then so we missed it."

"This shepherd's hut is in a very remote area. Some difficulty traversing the narrow country roads to get there. The view was lovely and the host friendly and accomodating. The bed was high and we, in our mid seventies, had to assist each other in and out each time. All in all, despite the wet, windy weather, we had a sheperd's hut experience which we could not have in Canada. I think it would have been a nice area to enjoy in warmer, more pleasant weather."

"Very clean and tidy room, centrally located in this small town, Hotel does not do evening meals but lots of takeaway options and several pubs serving food in the evenings all in easy walking distance."

"This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. There was a nice touch with tea making facilities and scones provided for the 4 days that I was there. I cannot...

"Cleanliness of cottage was great! Breakfast menu was fresh and good selection of breakfast, on dinner was lovely and tasty food, definatley recomend. Staff nice and helpfull.😊 Property Facilities would need improving, lovely grounds and views, but some places (including a few Lodges) are abandoned and would need some invesment to put back in service."
