STARFISH ON STRADDIE

"Starfish" is a comfortable 1 bedroom plus bunk room cottage, close to natural bushland and only 1 kilometre from the beach (Please scroll down to bottom of first page to see exact location on local map)

Starfish has everything you need for a stress free beach holiday.

Winter brings the majestic Humpback Whales on their annual migration to Hervey Bay. A short drive to lookouts and from May to August, you will see them heading north. From August to November they return to their summer home in the Antarctic waters. Other whales can also frequent the crystal clear waters off North Stradbroke Island.

Beautiful headland gorge walk, including sightseeing
Picture yourself barefoot on a pristine beach, not a care in the world. Sun glistening through crystal clear blue water, dolphins surfing the waves. Seagulls, terns and oyster catches go about their day on the beach too. You may spot a kite or eagle gliding above the dunes.
This is a small taste of what is awaiting you. To experience all North Stradbroke Island has to offer, a pleasant trip across Moreton Bay is necessary. Regular vehicular ferries and passenger boats depart from Cleveland, a bay side area, south east of Brisbane. Ferry and passenger boat trips depart daily from 5am, until late, depending on day of week. More about that later, but it must be said that this relaxing trip will de-stress and unwind you in preparation for your stay in paradise.
A 15 minute drive from Dunwich, were the ferry and boat terminals are, is Starfish.

We have stayed her 5 times now and it is just perfect for us. Hubby and myself and our pup. The cottage has a great little deck and is generally well kitted out. Carolyn and Mal are fantastic and always helpful. Straddie is so relaxing

Whale Watching

Fabulous dog friendly accommodation, new sundeck a great addition. Whales watching at Point Lookout our favourite place to visit. Thanks, enjoyed our weekend stay once again.

We had a nice stay at Starfish. It was a peaceful location and the bed was comfortable. Lack of Wi-fi was a little inconvenient but my fault for not checking availability of this first. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation for family with toddlers as they would probably fall off the patio but there’s heaps of games and DVD’s to help keep older kids entertained when not at the beach etc

Great location can even see a glimpse of the ocean from the front deck. Bit going on in the front yard with old machines and some gardening work but was pre warned and really wasn't that big of a deal. Would definitely come again.

Adequate. Poor telephone and mobile coverage. Had a disused tractor in pieces in the front yard. But it did make the place easy to find. My dog was allowed with a dog cage out the back, so that was a big plus.

Straddie stay

This is the second time we have stayed here so we were already familiar with th property. Everything we needed was supplied.The bedrooms are a bit tight to move in but otherwise ok.maybe a wall fan in the bunk room? Gets a bit hot when door closed.The addition of the new outside deck giving a water view was great.

Perfect for small family with small dog

Lovely small pet friendly house. Everything there what we need and convenient location. Just no phone reception ( with optus ) when we needed to serch next day plan was bit hard. But including the budget it's a perfect house to stay.
